Hello all,

If I’ve got a Cisco Device on a COM port, what command(s) do I need to issue to get to the Cisco command prompt?  I thought I would just “telnet /dev/<serial device name>” and everything would be cool.

You will need something like minicom, which is equivalent to Window's 'hyperterminal' to talk to the serial port.

This should help: http://www.idevelopment.info/data/Unix/Linux/LINUX_UsingSerialConsoles.shtml
