I can't find in my notes why I added this (probably the whole block at
once), but notice that most (all?) subdir Makefiles add this as well.
Perhaps it can be ripped out here, if not globally together with the whole
CH, CHOWN, CHGRP stuff given that we hardly (if at all) do root builds
anymore.
