Correct.  I think the database itself is corrupt and/or that the
scripts have run off the rails.

It's spewing messages that appear to have been gathered from a recent
case renaming, but it's unclear to me whether that actually has
anything to do with the problem or is just a coincidence.

In any event, it's very broken.
