Hi all,

I was running 5.8 build 811. I upgraded to 5.8.8.820 and then upgraded
DBI to 1.54...same problem.

So, at this point do I have any other recourse other than to try using
cygwin?

Thanks,
Tony

Which version of ActiveState Perl are you running ?

The current releases seem to be:

http://www.activestate.com/Products/ActivePerl/

ActivePerl 5.8.8.820 and ActivePerl 5.6.1.638

There were a lot of problems with ActiveState Perl when using the DBI. A
lot were reported in Bugzilla's bugtracker for older Bugzilla versions.
A lot in ActiveState's bugtracker, too. The problem Scmbug had in the
past was a crash. Perhaps now the DBI is not crashing but just
misbehaving, or ActivePerl is misbehaving. Who knows. But I'm glad we at
least pinpointed this to a "database layer" issue.

You might need to upgrade (or downgrade) ActiveState Perl to try to find
something that works. ActiveState Perl 5.8 (build 811 based on Perl
5.8.6) worked well for me. Thorsten said he is running Perl
(5.8.8.820).

Could you give the latest ActiveState Perl a try ?

But how can Bugzilla access the database properly but not Scmbug ?
