I'll be having another look anyway. My >convention was to M-Tab under Emacs,
(try to) write readable code and never use for loops (only while loops).

I still think there should be a code convention, for instance we have mixed
up spaces and tabs as leading characters in this file.

Why not adopt the perl style guide, like Bugzilla development is doing?
