Oh no, not a hair situation... First, does Bugzilla's ./checksetup.pl report any errors ?
Second, I suspect the following fix might work for you. http://bugzilla.mkgnu.net/show_bug.cgi?id=1073#c26 I have not been convinced this fix was needed, and we haven't been able to understand similar errors before.
