I think there is an element of needing to pander to the culture of political correctness. Some events and communities have had bad processes and attitudes. Those needed to impose a CoC to try and amend the behaviour of the not so nice element. However this has now become a tool for labelling communities good or bad. If you do not have a COC you are clearly a bad (sexist, racist, <put-your-favourite-ist-here>,…) community because you do not have a CoC. Thus, there is now a need to have a CoC to avoid the marketing pressure of the political correctness police. -- Russel. ============================================================================= Dr Russel Winder t: +44 20 7585 2200 voip: sip:[email protected] 41 Buckmaster Road m: +44 7770 465 077 xmpp: [email protected] London SW11 1EN, UK w: www.russel.org.uk skype: russel_winder
