Deek Hoy expounded:
> Nigel asked:
> > Can anybody recall the song referred to below?
> It's called 'These are My Mountains'. Widely parodied :)
Thank you my good man. I passed on your info the the person seeking the
song (naturally omitting the fact that I didna ken the answer) and she
was delighted.
Ian Brockbank continued:
> I could sing it to you, but it doesn't come across very well on
> computer...
Imagining you singing it is quite enough, thank you. And your high E
flat is a little sharp, by the way.
Keith W Dunn took the baton:
> Concerning the trad. song "These are My Mountains", there's a
> very good version sung by Alex Beaton...
Trivia alert: Alex Beaton was in the early 60s Scottish group The
Cumberland Three. He recently emailed me to relate his history for my
Obscure Scottish Folk Groups web page. He lives in the US now, I
believe, and tours Highland games singing traditional songs.
