Depends on whether they spelt out "1998" with the torches, doesn't it? There was man, his name was Lang, He had a neon sign; And Mr Lang was very old, So they called it Old Lang's Sign. > Jack has told us that the tune "Highland Cathedral" is "one of > the centrepieces of the New Year's Day ritual in this village" > (Newtongrange). Also "You'll Never Walk Alone", which has about the same Scottish credentials... Anybody thinking of coming to it this year, note that Midlothian Council has now cut *all* buses on New Year's Day. (There weren't any on Christmas Day or Boxing Day either, nor will there be any on 2/1/3). The other consequence of which is that nobody in Midlothian can get back from this year's Edinburgh Hogmanay bash by public transport. =================== <http://www.purr.demon.co.uk/jack/> =================== Posted to Scots-L - The Traditional Scottish Music & Culture List - To subscribe/unsubscribe, point your browser to: http://www.tullochgorm.com/lists.html
