The late Tom Anderson was another noted fiddler who said he "saw colours" in music although I understand he was somewhat sensitive about discussing the matter. For example, when asked what he thought of the Tim Wright Band's inclusion of a clarinet in their line up he replied that he quite liked the "brown" sound of the instrument which he felt worked well with the overall colour of the fiddles.
