Just thought i'd say hello as i've recently moved upto Scotland from the
midlands ( Northants LUG ) and i guess your now my "local" group.

I'll be an email only participant though as i'm located 60 miles North of
Inverness and only ever pass the South of Scotland on the train during my
monthly trip back to the office , back in London.

I'm a SuSE user generally ( back since 6.4 ) although i've dabbled with
Debian.

I've got one query already though and its a Scotland only one at the moment (
none of my contacts back South can help ). Has anyone got experience using
BT's Satellite Broadband service with Linux up here yet. I know its not a
generally available product for a few more weeks ( even then only in Scotland
) , but i'm aware that a trial has been ongoing in Scotland for the last few
months.

I know Linux isn't supported ( no suprise there ) , but scouting some US
sites of the equivelant service from Gilat has a couple of work arounds to
get the kit working under Linux. I was hoping that the same work arounds are
usable in the UK.

Any ideas , as i'll be ordering the day its available and i'd hate to waste
that 900 installation fee?
