Cool. I've got 2.4.7 (IIRC) at home. I'm was waiting for 2.4.18 as this looks like its going its going to herald the return of stable 2.4-series kernels. On Sunday I tried with the latest drivers and things seemed to have improved greatly. All the really weird/show-stopping "undocumented features" (e.g. randomly triggering your screensaver) seem to have been removed. The only thing I've noticed is a small amount of pixel corruption (easily removed by forcing X to redraw that bit of the screen) and a weird pixel jitter when the CPU and GPU are going full pelt. Both very minor things. > but I can't remember. The only annoying thing I personally find about > nVidia cards is that if you do upgrade your kernel then you have to > recompile the module. Mind you, that said it is the same for the drivers I > have for the LTWin modem I have in my laptop.. Yep. I guess that's true for all non-kernel drivers. I've got a laptop with a Lucent modem and the binary-only drivers seem to work fine.
