Hi,

I'm thinking about doing this, so if anyone is really interested, lets talk and
see what happens.
I've got a lot of code that would mean we could talk directly to dns, and we
may even be able to make some lower versions work.
Cheers
San.

Thanks sooo very much Dave for all that info! (this is definitely a
keeper).

No real argument about buy DNS/pro (it's much much better supported; there is
no support for the MS speech product).

However, this forces you into a different screen reader (which you may not
like), and a diferent company with different support policies (which you may
really not like); so, if you're going to spend money, how about buying DNS/pro
and then paying a scripter to make it work with Window-Eyes for you?

If you have a little extra money Jim, turn your hiring of a scripter into a
salable product, and make your money back! I don't know how much extra you'd
have to pay someone beyond what they'd need to do just for you, but if it's
affordable, or if you can create some deal where there's profit sharing instead
of billable hours, then you've turned a need and a problem for you into a
business to keep you employed.

So, there's suddenly a lot here worth thinking about.

Chip

all,

just saw your message. Just my opinion, if you're going to pay a scriptor to do
that work for WSR, might as well spend the money and get dns pro. It works on a
modified version of vb script so if you know vb, theoretically you could just
learn the different commands. Chip just as a fyi, vocola does work with dragon
but uses a python -based language which I think utilizes the gdk framework
which isn't accessible with window-eyes. I do agree though that a few people
making some money off of scripting would help, if only because it takes a lot
of work, chip's word advanced features app is a great example, I don't know
what I did without it, honestly.

Also, there is a product that interacts with dragon natspeak called
knowbrainer, k n o w brainer, that has a simplified scripting language to make
it easier to program dns to do what you want. I know the developers on that one
and it's pretty accessible thanks to my feedback and a lot of beta testing.
They also offer the product free to anyone who has a physical disability. So
that's an option as well.
www.knowbrainer.com is the site with a very active and friendly user forum as
well. hth,
