Definitely, the header tickled everyone's interest. A computer for only
a hundred dollars. Almost sounded too good to be true, and in many ways
maybe it even is what it is.
Two questions that might arise:
1) Adding the extra storage, the bluetooth headset, and a bluetooth
keyboard - how much is it all going to cost at the end of the day? Are
we closing in on the price of the long-existing netbooks?
2) Portability. Adding on the above mentioned peripahls, how portable
will it all be? OK, each component being rather small, but when you tuck
it all into your case. Again, are we closing in on a netbook in size or
dimentions?
Nope, I am not a fan of netbooks - although I have one here for a mere
backup when the main system fails. But I just wonder if this computer
would be all that much of a high-go. At least, the netbook I have, has a
fan, and is capable of running most of a working-day on one charge.
Maybe it is a bit bigger, perhaps a chunk more heavy, but if I was going
to only perform simple activities, I would still prefer something that
would be more durable. And, I doubt you are able to do all that much
with the tiny pocket computer here described. Seemed to be way too many
limitations in both speed, memory, storage and the cooling factor. Chip,
I agree in your comment: "just find something to use it all for." Maybe
as a notetaker, and for the geeks OK, but for the average user I am
uncertain if I would have suggested it. In case you buy it, and after a
couple of months decide it was to limited, you will end up with a rather
expensive toy, and still have to go for a more standard equipment.
Thanks for posting the link, and it sure is interesting to see things
coming down in more affordable prices. Just wish they would have made it
more useful.
And now, please, let¨s get this list back on topic. To do so, let me
state that I have a hard time imagining myself using such a limited
product for any of my app coding and testing. Unless I just wanted to
make sure my code would even be cramped enough to run under the
limitations of the unit.

Hi Chip,
Yes, and I submitted the link just to let everyone know that you can
actually get a usable PC for such a low price.
USB headsets or speakers would do the trick for audio too.

Bruce,
Well, for $100 I thought it would be worth investigating, for some very
specific application; I just had to go to the Microsoft store mentioned in
the article, and some other places, to read more about it, so I could better
understand it.
You can add a 64GB micro SD disc to bring the HD storage up to a usable
range, and perhaps a bluetooth headset will give you the audio it doesn't
have (along with access to Cortana). You could add a bluetooth keyboard if
you also wanted.
I think you could install WE with some low-overhead synth such as Eloquence,
and you could get a portable hotspot or use your phone.
Then, the only trouble might be finding something useful to do with it!
It does remind me of the Original "SmallTalk" sold by GW Micro.

Hi!
Yes Chip, I wasn't going to comment until you did and besides the fact
that it is a small device, it appears to be only a 32 GB hard drive, a slow
clock and the possibility of over-heating...
It actually does not sound like a good device to have at all.
Only portability and price seems to be what it has and nothing else.

Thanks Rod; an interesting product, but I found Tamas Geczy's review to be
confusing and poorly written.

Hi everyone,
The other day, I posted a link to an article I found on Cool Blind Tech
which I have since learned doesn't work.
It was about the kind of computer you can get with one hundred U.S. dollars.
Sorry about that, and please try this link instead:

Thanks,
