I whole-heartedly agree with Kris on this one. I dont know how most of you
feel about this up-and-coming release, but Chris Cornell's solo effort
(which has been being pushed back indefinitely) should be out soon. I am a
big Soundgarden fan, and I also have a few of Chris' solo material (eg.
Seasons, Like Suicide [acousic], and Sunshower). He was the lead singer of
the band, of course, but his guitar work is amazing! On all the three of the
above mentioned songs, he plays ALL the guitar tracks. Not to mention that
when he first started Soundgarden, he was supposed to be the drummer -- and
lo-and-behold, he can sing!!
Jerry Cantrell *cough cough (hehe)* also had a hell of a solo debut. I was
lucky enough to catch two of his shows last year. I guess making a solo
record outside of what a band member known for can either make or break
him/her. And judging by the mind-altering guitar work Dan has given us as
ear candy, I would gladly welcome whatever he has to offer.
