I'm wondering if there's any proof that Nate had said he was going to rejoin
the band. I certainly never heard any mention of it when the big storm with
Will leaving the Foo happened. Has anyone considered how hard it would be to
for Nate to leave the Foo? If I was him and Dave Grohl (mr. capricious when
it comes to firing musicians/ recording over their drum tracks) was my boss
I'd hang on to the job as long as I could. After all, you gotta move
forward, and SDRE is really more about jeremy now than it used to be. True,
Foo is just as about Grohl, but it's ALWAYS been about him. Time was, when
SDRE was this band of four guys who played some really awesome rock that too
few people reached out for. Now, it's just different. Breaking up made them
legends. The new stuff is mind-blowingly awesome and I love it, but it's
just "different" now. Listening, you can hear it but you wont be able to put
your finger on it. Even if he did say he wanted to rejoin and then didnt, no
one can really fault him for sensing the difference right away. kinda like,
I dunno... making out your tenth grade girlfriend over christmas break the
night before going back to school- you just know it felt weird and youre
probably not ever going to do anything like that with her ever again and
thats cool because now a lot of time has passed an youre two different
people in different places. Not that this ever happened to me. Of course
not.
Ahem.
