I dissagree. If they really wanted to get famous they could have went with
any of the numerous "Big" labels that wanted them such as virgin and I guess
a few others made offers as well. But instead, they opted for an inbetween
label (time bomb) a major/Indie label with major distribution and just a
slight step up of promotion than say sub pop. If they had gone with a label
like virgin or geffen I think you might have seen promo poster for the
rising tide at major national chain record stores and I think possibly the
big mainstream rock radio stations in the major cities would have given the
first single a try. But instead the band was still being pushed to an
underground "college" market and only being played on the more alternative
rock stations. I've alway said to friends of mine that I've turned on to
sdre that Know matter how amazing the songs may be Sunny Day is just to
intellegent for the mainstream market. Its unfortunate that such an amazing
band never hit it big but the reality is Just at the peek of the whole "emo"
thing after lp2 when everybody thought emo would be the next big thing to
hit the mainstream the Beatles of emo broke up. And in the time between
the breakup and How it feels... Mainstream rock went from good songwriting
of the likes of alice n chains, soundgarden nirvana, ect.. to Heavy 7 string
bands like limp bisket and Korn followed by what I like to call one or 2 hit
wonders like bands like godsmack, stained and creed. Thus great "industry
buzz" of sunny day and emo faded away.

sorry if I'm rambeling but............

i think they broke up because TRT didn't do as well as they had hoped.

before TRT came out someone posted a bougus set list where they covered pop songs, and he said something about how "if we dont' get famous this time, we're going to quit" or something like that...well, anyways.  i think that was right on.

just my opinion
