Hello World!

I'm a lurker on this user list, usually.
You see, I'm a Ruby wanna-be, not a Ruby programmer.

I just signed up for the Ruby on Rails class at UCSD Extension, which goes from
Jan 26 - March 23, 2007. It is from 4:30 to 7:30 on Fridays, at UCSD Extension
Sorrento Mesa Center, 6925 Lusk Blvd. in Mira Mesa. Cost is $625. The
instructor is Don Thomas.

Does anyone have experience with this particular class? Is it worthwhile? Are
any of you familiar with the instructor? Is he a good teacher, or should I
demand my money back right now?

The class text/s are not posted at the UCSD bookstore site yet. What are the
generally accepted texts for learning Ruby (the pickaxe book, of course) and
Rails? I want to compare your thoughts with what the course text/s end up
being.

Thanks in advanced for any help offered.
I can hardly wait to get into Ruby!

Alan
