I haven't heard anything about that class, Alan... but I wouldn't be surprised if it's the first Rails class to be offered at UCSD Extension.

Agile 2nd edition is very, very useful. It's about twice the size of the first book and extensively covers newer Rails stuff like migrations, REST, RJS, Script.aculo.us, etc. (Get the PDF too... it's great for quick searching and much more portable than a regular book.)

Also... as Deb pointed out, Ruby for Rails is another must-have. If you really want to "get" how Ruby works, you need to read it. :)

Don't forget to come to one of our meetings and/or hackfests. It's a good way to learn new techniques and meet other Rubyists.
