Search390's Programming--COBOL, PL/I and LE for S/390 Expert Tom Ross, is away this week. While away, he received the following questions from some of your peers. Want to lend your expertise and "pinch hit" for Tom? >From Michael: "We are converting from prior IBM COBOL releases to COBOL for MVS. In CICS we are denoting the programs are still COBOL, instead of indicating they are LE compliant. Are there advantages/disadvantages to telling CICS (via the RDO) that COBOL programs are LE compliant?" If you can help Michael, go to : http://search390.discussions.techtarget.com/WebX?[EMAIL PROTECTED]^[email protected]/79!viewtype=&skip=&expand= >From Mark: "I am trying to FTP from a UNIX server to a TSO mainframe. When I send the file as ASCII, the file comes across with an extra character on each record. The hex representation for this extra character is '0D'. I FTP this file in ASCII format to my PC running WindowsNT and looked at it in Hex. Each record ends with '0D0D0A', instead of the standard Windows carriage return and line feed which is '0D0A'. When I FTP the same file using binary format to the same PC, the file is normal. I cannot use binary format to FTP to the mainframe, because then the file is not converted to EBCIDIC. Any solutions?"
