UNIX SYSTEM SERVICES vs LINUX | SEARCH390 FEATURED TOPIC

Unix apps can run on OS/390 using the USS utility. However, for many,
it isn't worth the effort. Some think porting to Linux is much easier
thanks to the shared heritage of the open source OS and its cousin
Unix. Do you agree? Let us know!

THE MISSING LINK | Census site shuts for a week

So many Brits, so many hits. That 1901 British census Web site
appears to be more popular than the Beatles and Tom Jones combined.
The U.K. Public Records Office (PRO) has been forced to shut down the
site for at least a week to make improvements. Right now, the site
just can't handle the load. The PRO had previously thought the
overhaul would only take a few hours. Now they're all humming the
same Beatles tune --"Help!"
