They are looking to consolidate it under Linux on S/390. We, the technical staff, are all for it. I know it can be run in an LPAR or under VM. Would you be willing to boldly go ... to bed? Fourteen men are hittin' the hay in France for three months -- lying down on the job in an experiment designed to imitate the effects of weightlessness on the human body during long-haul space travel. It's not the binge bedtime Brian Wilson put in back in the 1970s, but it will be a little tougher. The volunteers will rest in a tilt position with their feet slightly raised -- and everything from eating to bathing to relieving will be done in that position. Such endurance inertia is quite a physical challenge, but it pays pretty well too. Each bedfellow will get about 10 grand for his sedentary stint.
