The following was posted by Search390 member "austinrlee" and he
needs your help: "When a COBOL copybook is modified and put back in
production, does the production source library need to be scanned for
all programs that use the copybook and then recompiled - even if the
fields added to the copybook probably will not be used by other
programs?"

THE MISSING LINK | Buzz phrases that deserve the dust bin

ITspeak has got to be among the many things that make you go "ugh."
Everyone's heard it -- a language of buzz phrases that PR people and
industry geeks speak. It's a tongue so unspeakable it can turn normal
people into human press releases. Now, finally, the cliches of
computerdom are getting the dissing they deserve! The Mercury News
asked readers which shards of IT jargon annoyed them the most.
Drumroll please: "24x7," "leverage," "solution," "shift the
paradigm," "grow the business," "outside the box" and "best of breed"
all made the "most hated" list. Maybe these terms could go live in
exile somewhere and take "functionality," "scalability," and "ramping
up" with them!
