THE MISSING LINK | Yahoo settles yodeler suit

YaSUEhooooo! You can't even yodel these days without getting a lawyer
involved. You know the guy who yodels "YaHOOOOooo" at the end of
Yahoo's TV commercials (like the one where the shivering Siberian
surfs for a spa)? Wylie Gustafson recorded that "Raising
Arizona"-style holler six years ago for $590. Well, he was suing
instead of yahooing. He said the Yahoo yodel was supposed to be a
one-time deal, and he wanted $5 million for the use of his voice. Now
comes word that the suit has been settled, though it's unclear how
much Gustafson will get. Hopefully the people who harmonized at the
end of the Expedia.com commercial are getting their share -- because
that's one fine piece of vocalizing.
