Ask a Question

This Week: In the forums
>> TSG001 recently posted this question in our Operating Systems forum and is looking for help: Currently looking at installing JCA connectors on the Z/OS machine to use with WebSphere and CICS using CICSEXCI. We have to define a surrogate profile for a group of user id's. The spec says to issue a RACF "RDEFINE SURROGAT ..." and a "PERMIT SURROGAT..." command for this. The question is where and how do we issue these commands for RACF on the z/OS machine? Any input would be appreciated.
Please share your knowledge with TSG001
>> CONGRATULATIONS to Michael Simpson. He is Search390's Tip of the Month contest winner for April. Michael's "Creating a simple backup" tip was voted the best for April. To view Michael's winning tip, click here:

Our Tip of the Month contest for May has just begun. This month's prize is a Samsung DVD-S221 DVD/MP3 player. Submit your tip, and the DVD player can be yours

Tip of the Week:
Whaddayah do when floating-point numbers are two big at four bytes (let alone eight bytes) and dates gotta fit in a halfword? Oh yeah, and calculation speed is of the utmost. Why, of course, you do as Jim Keohane did for the lowly Apple II and pick up some "weapons grade" Julian date algorithm from Los Alamos National Laboratory.
