It's hard to imagine but CICS has been around for 35 years.
The impact of CICS is definitely staggering. Over 90% of Fortune 500 companies run CICS, according to IBM. About 90% of zSeries customers use CICS as well. The product handles over 30 billion transactions a day, which totals $1 trillion (that's right, $1 trillion) a day.
To celebrate the anniversary, Search390.com this month will offer a lot of additional CICS content such as news stories, downloads, tips and quizzes.
For example, this week we have a CICS history quiz. To check it out click here.
But I promise you, our coverage won't just focus on the history of CICS. I know CICS has evolved much over the last three and a half decades. It is still getting better. For example, IBM has said it will offer the CICS on Linux next year.
