LEAD STORY
"COMMON: iSeries user protect thyself"
iSeries administrators who think they can trust their users not to
tamper with their company's data need a reality check. According to
iSeries security expert Ken Graap, trust has nothing to do with it.
Administrators who don't have a security policy in place are asking
for trouble.

[1] "Why choose iSeries as your Domino server?"
Domino is said to make the iSeries standout from the crowd. Some
people use phrases about outstanding partnerships to describe Domino
together with the AS/400 such as "a marriage made in heaven", or "
uniting two "hall of fame" technologies". Check out this article to

[2] "Technology Insight: Fibre Channel, SANs, and the iSeries"
This writer covers the basic idea behind a storage area network (SAN)
strategy, and discusses how Fibre Channel is the connection fabric
for the SAN. V5R1 supports Fibre Channel, this means it brings the
advantage of hubs that enable shared access to a common tape device,
and the capability to attach to a tape device up to 10 kilometers
away. If you're looking for some good information on iSeries storage
management, check out this article.

"Web surfers hunt like animals, researchers find"
Computer scientists are getting primal when it comes to simplifying
the search for material on the Internet. A scientist named Ed Chi at
Xerox's research center is working on a program that determines a Web
site's usability. Chi is applying foraging theories developed by
ecologists decades ago to his program because he believes people surf
the Web much the same way animals prowl for prey. He wants to make
surfing an intuitive exercise rather than one where users feel like
stranded tourists in a foreign country.
