>> End an active server job
One user writes, "Is there a way to end an active server job that has a status of TIMW? I'm trying to program the server to end if communication gets disconnected for any reason. What I have are data queues that are set up to end and start the server, but if the server goes into TIMW mode it will not end." Site expert John Brandt responds.

>> Unattended installs for iSeries
This member is interested in getting more information on unattended installs using image catalog. He's read that you can use it to install PTFs and go from V5R1 to V5R2 of OS/400. He wonders if anyone has used image catalog to do an unattended install of the operating system. Does it work well, if not what are the downfalls? Two people offered suggestions. Read what they said or post your own advice.

>> OS/400 backup command
"Peterp1024" uses the 'Backup' command as his nightly backup process. He's having trouble finding documentation on it and wonders why most companies don't use this command. "MindNL" says he uses it. Click over and read what else he had to say.

The RCLRSC command will not work if you convert the whole thing to ILE and tell it to run in an activation group other than the default.

There are things you can do, however, to help you avoid problems with the Reclaim Resources command as it relates to RPG programs.
