FROM THE WEB AND EVENT MARKETING MANAGER

Time to say goodbye
[Tom Pappalardo, Web and Event Marketing Manager]

I am writing this last note to all of you to say goodbye. It has been two and a half years since I started working with editor Michelle Davidson and you, our loyal Search400.com members. This site still amazes me with the consistent traffic and robust responses to our articles, white papers and webcasts. More than any other site I have worked on in the TechTarget network, Search400.com has the most loyal and devoted workers for their technology.

It has been a great run for me here at TechTarget, and I have learned a lot about iSeries users, the marketplace and IBM's stance on its bulletproof servers. The new company I am going to has products that run on the iSeries, so I am happy to take this knowledge with me. Maybe I will see you at COMMON again.

I wish everyone the best of luck in the new year.

TIP: Time for your annual security checkup
by Rich Loeber

Your iSeries is not unlike the average middle-aged man. They both need annual checkups to make sure there are no surprises lurking. This tip provides a list of items to check for your annual system audit.

TIP: How to generate reports using stored procedures
When you want to generate reports from multiple databases, third-party tools in the open-system environment are much more flexible than reporting features found on the iSeries. But the better way is to use external stored procedures.
