[AI] Seeking info on B P monitor and glucometer:
Dear folks, I wish to have two clarifications with regard to health apliences: Firstly do any of you have any experience with paramount talking digital blood pressure monitor? It is available quiet cheaply at RS 990. in adition to that, what kind of facilities / provisions do we find with B. P. monitor wich saksham sells at RS 6500? is it better one? In which aspects is it better? From which company is it? Even Panasonic B P monitor sells at RS 3000. Secondly, I would like to buy gluco meter. I would feel glad enough if it has talking facility. Acucheck V may be one of the options available in the market. But I heard that non-availability of strips is a problem. Is there anything else apart from that? I would like to buy these two products. If you have any experience, please share with me. It can be certainly helpful. Thanks in anticipation. My personal contact details are: E-mail: surya.ga...@gmail.com Mobile: 9441013400. Re: [AI] objection on commentary of Navjot Singh Siddhu in IPL on Satmax
These kinds of expressions were previously treasured in the literature of numerous languages. Perhaps the sensitivity of such insulting phrases resembling the actual sense that causes the emotional disheartenments of persons belonging to the concerned sections for which they are applied were not brought under a refining enlightenment due to the significant unawareness prevalent in the then society. However, legitimizing the refrainment of avoiding such usages may be put to question on the ground of its existing idiomatic connotation. But where the constitution of this nation is subjected to undergo invariable amendments time to time, even concerning the incorporation or elimination of several terms, why such issues are deliberately being overshadowed under the non-serious responsiveness of the concerned authority on the basis of their confined outlook? We should be committed to preserve our reverential integrity and its significance by being constructively sensitive to the violation of such values, and also by initiating requisite measures in respect of its protection. No matter how little or intense our efforts in this regard, but if constructed sincerely and regularly, the constant endeavour through such efforts in order to bring about a reformative change in the attitudinal behaviour of the people can be imagined to some extent as achieving in reality. Re: [AI] How to restore My Computer icon on the Desktop
Hi. This method works for Windows 7 Starter and hopefully it will be applicable for Windows XP as well. Press Ctrl + Esc or Windows to launch the Start Menu. Press the up arrow once and start pressing C until you land up on Computer. Press the Applications key and press the up or down arrow until you land on Show On Desktop. Simply press Enter on it and you are done. Alternatively, you can press Windows + E to launch Computer AKA Windows Explorer. Hope that helps. [AI] Outlook Debate: Is it time for India to vote Online? pros and cons abound
block quote (nine phases, six weeks) and most expensive (Rs 3,500 crore by Election Commission estimates) general election in the history of the country. Wouldn't the money, time, manpower and resources spent on this mammoth exercise be reduced through electronic polling? And des-pite the substantially better voter turnout this year, wouldn't we have got even better numbers if people were remote voting from their mobiles, laptops or PCs than venturing out in the heat to cast their vote? No, says, former chief election commissioner S.Y. Quraishi. "If they can't spend their time and energy to go out on voting day, which is a paid holiday, then e-voting is too unfair a demand," he says. block quote end Full debate can be read at: http://www.outlookindia.com/article.aspx?290677 -- Avinash Shahi M.Phil Research Scholar Centre for The Study of Law and Governance Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi India Register at the dedicated AccessIndia list for discussing accessibility of mobile phones / Tabs on: http://mail.accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/mobile.accessindia_accessindia.org.in Search for old postings at: http://www.mail-archive.com/accessindia@accessindia.org.in/ To unsubscribe send a message to accessindia-requ...@accessindia.org.in with the subject unsubscribe. Re: [AI] Fwd: Regarding the details of camera for blind, its learning and expenses of the devices
Hi, If you have a smart phone, you can start working with the phone camera. If your smart phone runs Android, you can begin to use the vOICe which will allow you to frame the shot and get a sense of perspective and give you other visual details. The use of the vOICe will take some practice but it is not as difficult as it may appear to be. Re: [AI] problums in banks
Zainul, according to the RBI rules, no bank can deny the blind to operate their accounts independently. Read the relevant circulars from VisuallyImpairedBankers.blogspot.in, because after knowing your rights you will successfully argue with them. However high or legal language they speak, reject their version and withdraw your cash. They use jargon and inflated language to dominate people and hide their ignorance. Once an Allahabad Bank worker told me that their DGM had told the employees that no rules permit the blind to use the bank services independently. Citing the RBI rule, I told him "Your DGM is wrong" and "Update your bank knowledge" and after some time he was forced to give me the cash. Contact www.eyeway.org or other NGOs for further help. But first read the rules and help yourself by getting knowledge of the rules.
