Hello,

I am visually impaired as well as hearing impaired.

I want to read  ncert books in ms word because I have motion disabilities
also meaning operating mouse is difficult for me . I want ncert ebook in ms
word without its formatting changing . I used caliber to change to txt but
the formatting is all weird.

I installed free trial of kuzweril 1000 but cant get the hang of it .

I have started using technology for VI persons recently so I am bit
technology challenged .

I would be grateful if somebody could guide me

Recently , I became a member of bookshare. I searched for some Indian
fiction books . some of the books I wanted to read are available.

, but to my surprise I cannot  download them . these are restricted for
Indian residents. This rule seems unfair.

Online courses by IIM, IITs from 2015, says HRD Minister



According to the Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ms Smriti
Irani, Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and the Indian Institutes of
Technology (IITs) will launch several free online courses in 2015.



It is a good news for general candidates as they are going to get online
lectures from IIT and IIM's professors. Minimal fee will be charged for
certification of the online courses. For SC, ST and specially able
candidates the course will be offered free-of-cost.



The IITs and IIMs are planning to launch the Massive Open Online Courses
(MOOCs) in the coming days, backed by the government's Swayam Bharat
program. The government's keen interest in developing online education in
the country has acted as a great motivator for the institutes. In the
budget, Rs 100 crore was earmarked for online education for MOOCs as well
as virtual classrooms. MOOCs may contribute towards attaining the target of
training 500 million people by the year 2022, say industry experts.



Many IITs and IIMs are collaborating with international institutes,
government as well as the HRD ministry to deliver MOOCs. MOOCs have become
a rage globally in the field of higher education, with their interactive
mode of learning and easy accessibility. Some experts however, feel that
MOOCs have limited scope of filling the skills gap as they are based on
one-way communication.

What about people who have multiple disabilities ?  when the
body loses one sense it is not compensated by other senses in their case.
These words are just words, heard numerous times.

When a door closes, God opens a window, they say, but what we need  a
helping hand to get to the window.

That we need , a helping hand so we all do what  we all are capable of.



We won’t become specially abled till we get some “special" helping hand
from government and society ,

Vitamin C could help to ward off the risk of contracting cataracts.



There is the firmly entrenched belief that vitamin C could be a panacea for
the common cold. Yet, ascorbic acid which is the ingredient of vitamin C
could help fight off cataracts as well.



Although just by taking a lot of vitamin C you cannot completely end a
cataract, you can reduce its severity. A delay in the onset of the eye
disease would also be possible. Most of the vitamin C ought to come from
the daily diet.



The study was published in the journal Ophthalmology.



Cataracts appear as a consequence of senescence. They can be seen as a
clouded layer of hazy material on the surface of the eyes. They are the
main reason for blindness on a global level.



The study involves 1000 aged female twins. Their mean age was 60 years.
Those who took large amounts of vitamin C slashed their chances of
contracting a cataract by a third over a period of a decade.



This was a significant find. However, getting vitamin C through a
supplement did not do the trick. The condition was that you had to obtain
it mainly from your diet. This study portrays the importance of dietary and
lifestyle factors in the prevention of cataracts.



While genes determine 35% of the chances of having a cataract in old age,
diet accounts for the remaining 65%. Thus environment plays a big role in
the onset of the disease.



By taking precautions and enjoying a good diet of fresh fruits and
vegetables, one can remain free of the disease throughout one’s life. The
“correlation does not prove causation” thesis remains extant here as well,
so more research needs to be done.

Then I will be careful about m vitamin e intake, though a neurologist
advised me not to take excess vitamin a , as it builds up pressure in the

woman lving in chandigarh. I am interested in joining bookshare for access  to

I use  zoom text software with 4 power magnification  on computer.





I use ms word for reading.

After purchasing ebooks I convert them to txt file  with help of caliber
software and then .doc files.

The issue is I don’t use screen reader on PC as my hearing loss is very
high .instead I use a magnifying software zoom text.

to windows 7 . I used to work with kurzweil 1000 but it cant be set up on

*When I surf the net , I find random letters missing like b in book appears

*When I try to save images, the browser hangs up *

*When I try to attach files on gmail, browser hangs up *

*When I try to download files , again browser hangs up*

*My brother tried reloading google chrome 3 times but the problems remain  *

*I use windows 7 with zoom text …….magnifying software *

needed. is it uploaded online

The name of the company Esschenbach,

Now its focusing light is not working.

The magnifier has a warranty , but repairs are possible only in country of
purchase. Sending the magnifier to US is impossible.

Can anybody suggest somewhere where I can get the magnifier repaired.

loss. I can only read ebooks in ms word. I recently purchased ebook five
point someone from amaaon.in . I convert kindle ebooks to ms word with
caliber converting software. I cant convert other ebooks but not this ne
can an.y  help me ?.  I can read ebooks in ms word with zoom text a
