I would gladly show if I could get the older version of the package. Is
there a way to do that?

Maybe try in testing or in snapshot.debian.net

I've installed the package prior to the changes in romanian layout:
xkb-data_1.2~cvs.20080501.1-1_all.deb. In this version 'std' variant
is named as 'std_comma' and the configuration looks like this for
my default layout and the symname string

setxkbmap -model pc105 -layout us,ro,ru -variant ,std_comma,phonetic
pc+us+ro(std_comma):2+ru(phonetic):3+group(menu_toggle)+ctrl(nocaps)

and here is the modified layout in the similar way I did when reported the
bug:

setxkbmap -model pc105 -layout ro,us,ru -variant std_comma,,phonetic
pc+ro(std_comma)+us:2+ru(phonetic):3+group(menu_toggle)+ctrl(nocaps)

Thanks,

Hi,

The package 'msttcorefonts', which your package Suggests, has changed
name. It is now called ttf-mscorefonts-installer, to be in line with
other TrueType font packages in Debian. Also, recently the
ttf-liberation package has entered Debian. This is a package containing
free variants of the Arial, Courier and Times New Roman fonts. This is
obviously a better alternative to users since it's in main and doesn't

Please do one of the following:

1) If your package only needs Arial, Courier or Times New Roman, change

dtmfdial is a DTMF (Dual Tone Multiple Frequency) tone generator. This
program generates the same tones that modern TouchTone telephones use
to dial. It can be used to dial on any phone system supporting DTMF tones.
dtmfdial requires a sound card to work, and is designed to be used as a
phone dialer from address book programs.

Attached. Though evince doesn't appear in the contents, it is really
evince that has been run (and appears in ps output).

I see what is happening. There is no security issue there, only
  inconvenience.

There is *potential* security/data-loss problem, because the following
 points are cumulated:
   1. Firefox runs a program (evince) while announcing something else.
   2. The end user doesn't necessarily know that and doesn't necessarily
even know GNOME's evince (he doesn't necessarily run GNOME: this
  is my case).
   3. Because of point 2, the end user may have installed a program
(possibly written by himself) named evince that could do
destructive things. Of course, you may wonder whether or not this
is likely to occur somewhere in practice, but évince is a French
  word that means oust.

IMHO, it is important that this bug is fixed before the next stable
release (in fact, more for the inconvenience than for the potential
 security/data-loss problem).

Remove the xulrunner-1.9-gnome-support for a quick work around.

OK, thanks for the information, but note that this is not possible on
machines shared by several users, as some users may need it.

Can you try the attached patch against xulrunner ? (not tested ; I /think/
it should work and not break anything else, but I will have to do some
real testing)

This is clearly not the machine or kernel tuple which the test is
failing on? :-)

What machine and kernel are you using?

What provides the kernel headers?

Do you have a recipe for building locally?

e.g.
# put unstable sources list in your /etc/apt/sources.list
apt-get build-dep glibc
apt-get source glibc
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot

True, and Trac still supports old Clearsilver code. If no .cs files

just fine.

I have listed only the packages which should be changed, others are OK AFAICS.
Except I have no idea why trac package Suggests: php5-cli.

This is used for PHP source code highlighting, which is a popular
feature. Alhtough Trac 0.11 is advertised as using now Pygments
(http://pygments.pocoo.org/) as the default highlighter (not tested

Bug#490046: gdb: [PATCH] segfault while debugging eclipse 3.4 via sun jvm (thread issue)

2008-07-09 Thread Alban Browaeys
Package: gdb
Version: 6.8-3.3
Severity: important

Re: [RFC] Fix for gdb crash in info thread after exec().
http://sourceware.org/ml/gdb-patches/2008-05/msg00710.html fixes the issue for
me though http://sourceware.org/ml/gdb-patches/2008-05/msg00727.html is told to
be better (sorry not tested the latter yet).
But both should test the java testcase in gdb that segfault too (trigger
debreaper).

Note : sun jvm seems not to like gdb very much as eclipse crash in
various ways while debugging eclipse . Though starting eclipse then gdb
-p $(pidof eclipse) around the time eclipse was crashing helped me find
out that it was opening too many file descriptor and overflowing the
fd_set array when calling FD_SET. Thanks for this great tool even though
it did not pinpoint the problem as FD_SET is assigning to an array in a
macro at least it made it obvious the stack was corrupted at this stage.
Valgrind
is too slow with eclipse and java (one day long and it crashed). *you
saved my life* in many ways :)

I share the pointer to those patch if not to be included at least maybe
they could be tried by other having issue with threads. I hope it will
be included upstream soon.

Cheers
Alban

2008-07-09 Thread Daniel Musketa
Package: nut-usb

Using driver = newhidups with an APC Smart UPS 750 causes the following

- The driver doesn't connect to the UPS on system startup, I have to

- Everytime the UPS goes on battery, the driver disconnects and performs

Bug#490049: could we have a gdb-dbg version ? and a switch to compat mode 5

2008-07-09 Thread Alban Browaeys
Package: gdb
Version: 6.8-3.3
Severity: wishlist

Sorry not to include patch but my attempt failed. I had to build gdb
with DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nostrip to workaround my inability to build
multiple -dbg packages in compat 4 mode . Even with control file changed
and DEB_DH_STRIP_ARGS := --dbg-package=gdb added to the rules file.

This is related to my previous http://bugs.debian.org/490046 report
where I found the needed patch thanks to debugging symbols being added
to gdb.

Bug#303234: Gnucash 2.2.6 will support AqBanking 3.x

2008-07-09 Thread Micha Lenk
Hi Thomas,

yesterday, Andreas Köhler merged the new AqBanking code into trunk. This
means the next release, which is expected to be available latest 21st of
July 2008, does finally support AqBanking 3.x.

If you want to push Gnucash 2.2.6 into Lenny you might want to ask
Debian Release Managers in advance for a freeze exception for Gnucash.
A huge bunch of mostly German users would be quite excited to see that
happen. ;-)

  Micha

Bug#489920: [pkg-wpa-devel] Bug#489920: madwifi no longer supported, ath_pci doesn't work anymore

2008-07-09 Thread Kel Modderman
Hi martin,

On Wednesday 09 July 2008 21:13:55 martin f krafft wrote:

also sprach Kel Modderman [EMAIL PROTECTED] [2008.07.09.0227 +0200]:
Where do you get your information from? Madwifi and ath5k support
the WEXT backend, it just so happens that ath5k doesn't work at
  all very well yet.

I've been happy for years with the ath_pci driver and madwifi
backend. When I try the wext backend, the driver cannot make an
association, wavemon keeps showing an empty ESSID, and the invalid
network ID counter keeps counting upwards. If I revert to the
madwifi private backend, it works fine.

Did you agree with the discussion put forward in referenced thread and #487585?

I suspect this is a duplicate of #487585. Please confirm, so that the bug
  reports may be merged.

 Yes looks like it, sorry.

I now wonder how to move forward. I don't have connectivity on my
laptop anymore and have to type this elsewhere, so getting debug
information is going to require a lot of extra work. I'd appreciate
if my hand was held a bit. :)

Section 4. Troubleshooting of /usr/share/doc/wpasupplicant/README.modes.gz
is a starting point. A debug log of wpa_supplicant may be valuable should you
report problems to madwifi.org bug tracking system.

http://madwifi.org/wiki/TicketSubmissionGuidelines

These existing tickets may be related:
http://madwifi.org/ticket/275
http://madwifi.org/ticket/1817

Madwifi also has a mountain of debugging knobs to play with, but I am not
familiar with them. The wiki on madwifi.org, or support channels (eg. irc,
mailing list) may be of value.

http://madwifi.org/wiki/Resources

Also note that the most active Madwifi upstream developer, Matthew aka mentor
Bell is also assuming an active role in Debian maintaining the pkg-madwifi
packaging. It may be worth persuing this problem via a bug report against the
madwifi-source Debian package to open dialog with him.

I think I am correct in saying that Matthew would prefer to debug WEXT/scanning
related problems than reintroduce and depend on the legacy crap. Having said
that, #487585 does contain an invitation for outside help should the copy of
madwifi headers be re-introduced into wpasupplicant package for the purpose of
re-activating the driver_madwifi wpa_supplicant backend.

(I am also going to have less time to spend maintaining wpasupplicant package
soon, so extra help would be appreciated regardless of this issue...)

PS: I went a bit berserk after seeing that the latest wpasupplicant
in sid has UNRELEASED in the changelog.

I am sorry about that, but I do not have the rights in Debian to tag releases,
and only caught that error after it had been dispatched by the uploader.

Thanks, Kel.

So, is it a compiler issue?

OK, that's weird... I'll have a look at the .deb that was uploaded to

Bug#489523: pidgin-otr: key generation uses too much entropy from /dev/random

 Hi

I'm not sure this is an actual bug in pidgin-otr (nor libotr, for that
matter). AFAICT (but I don't know the code that much), it uses
libgcrypt's keygen procedures... I'm CC'ing OTR upstream to get some
 feedback there.

I know. It's annoying. libgcrypt has no way I can see to specify the
source of randomness for key generation (unlike every other use of
random numbers). It always uses /dev/random.

That being said, I just committed a patch to libotr to allow key
generation to be done in a background thread, but that doesn't really
solve the problem.

Bug#490051: unhelpful changelog information

2008-07-09 Thread Sam Hocevar
Package: udev
Version: 0.124-2
Severity: minor

Some time ago my system was rendered unbootable by udev. This morning
I saw the new 0.124-2 upload with the following changelog entry:

  * Automatic propagation of return values is annoying. (Closes: #489839)

Of course I guessed that the propagation of return values was what
was causing the script to fail. However I do not expect everyone to
understand this, and some people might be afraid to reboot because
they don't know that the issue is fixed. Thus I suggest changing the
changelog entry to the following:

  * Fix premature initscript failure that was rendering some systems
unbootable. (Closes: #489839)

Bug#490053: emacs info command (C-h i) does not find org-mode info, whereas standalone info (1) does

2008-07-09 Thread Gregor Zattler
Package: org-mode
Version: 6.05-2
Severity: normal

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA512

Hi,

I am using emacs 22 as delivered with debian sid/unstabel as of
today. After installation of org-mode the info utility shows
two entries for org listed in the info directory::

* Org Mode: (emacs-22/org). Outline-based notes management and
organizer
* Org Mode: (org). Outline-based notes management and
organizer

The first entry descibes org-mode 4.67 as delivered as part of
emacs 22, the second org-mode 6.05a as delivered with package
org-mode.

But when shown in emacs (command info c-h i) it shows:

* Org Mode Outline-based notes management and

organizer
* Org Mode Outline-based notes management and
  organizer

Both entries look exactly the same and in fact, if selected, both
entries show a desciption of org-mode 4.67. I do not know how to
read the info for org-mode 6.05a within emacs.

It would be nice if both entries showed the respective version
number and would lead to the respective info file(s).

Thank you for packaging org-mode.
Ciao, Gregor

Bug#490055: please update dependency on msttcorefonts

2008-07-09 Thread Thijs Kinkhorst
Package: eeepc-acpi-scripts
Version: 1.0.3
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

The package 'msttcorefonts', which several of your binary packages
Suggest, has changed name. It is now called ttf-mscorefonts-installer,
to be in line with other TrueType font packages in Debian. Also,
recently the ttf-liberation package has entered Debian. This is a
package containing free variants of the Arial, Courier and Times New
Roman fonts. This is obviously a better alternative to users since it's
in main and doesn't require a separate download.

Please do one of the following:

1) If your package only needs Arial, Courier or Times New Roman, change
   the Suggests to:
   ttf-liberation | ttf-mscorefonts-installer

2) If the suggests is specifically about non-{Arial,Courier,Times)
   fonts, change it to:
   ttf-mscorefonts-installer

thanks,

Bug#490058: kmail: Doesn't decode encoded From: and To: headers since 3.5.9-4

2008-07-09 Thread LÉVAI Dániel
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.5.9-4

When displaying the message list, kmail displays this:
=?iso-8859-2?Q?L=C9VAI_D=E1niel?=
instead of this:
LÉVAI Dániel
in the From: or To: headers. This is just an example, not just my name
gets
no decoding, of course.

I've downgraded to 3.5.9-2 (3.5.9-3 wasn't available for amd64 on the
mirrors), and
the problem was solved. Of course I don't wish to use the old version :)

Bug#489988: projectl: Creates file in current working directory

2008-07-09 Thread Nico Golde
Hi,
* Nico Golde [EMAIL PROTECTED] [2008-07-09 13:37]:
 * Guillem Jover [EMAIL PROTECTED] [2008-07-09 09:19]:
This game creates the file projectL.prf on the current working dir
every time it's run. It should probably create it under a dot dir on
the home dir. Setting as important as this might be a security problem
(it might even well be RC).

The code that does this seems to be the following from br/prefmanager.d:
  34 public void save(){
  35 auto File fd = new File;
  36 fd.create(PREF_FILE);
  37 fd.write(VERSION_NUM);
  38 _prefData.save(fd);
  39 fd.close();
  40  }
  41 public PrefData prefData() {
  42 return _prefData;
  43 }

Anyone knows if this would follow symlinks and thus opening a symlink attack
 here?
I have no idea of the d programing language.

Or can you send an strace of the process to the bug report?

Kind regards
Nico

Bug#490059: ejabberd: ldaps causes ssl_esock to leave many sockets

2008-07-09 Thread Andreas Unterkircher
Package: ejabberd
Version: 2.0.1-2
Severity: normal

Hello,

Some days ago we configured ejabberd to use ldaps (port 636) instead of
plaintext ldap to talk with our LDAP server. But after some days of
uptime it reproduceable reaches the open-file limit of 1024 for the
ejabberd user.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo lsof | grep -i ssl_esock | wc -l
1036

lsof shows a lot of:

ssl_esock 32237ejabberd 1003u sock0,5

ssl_esock 32237ejabberd 1004u sock0,5

922771762 can't identify protocol

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ulimit -a | grep open files
open files (-n) 1024

When that happens, users can not logon with their clients. Already
logged in users have no problem - but they can not update buddy
information of other users anymore.

After a restart of ejabberd (or killing ssl_esock only),
everything is fine again.

Regards,
Andreas

Bug#489523: pidgin-otr: key generation uses too much entropy from /dev/random

2008-07-09 Thread Simon Josefsson
I'm not a pidgin-otr user (yet), but some random comments:

What kind of key is generated here? If it is a long-term private key
(RSA etc) then using /dev/random is likely the right thing.

Generally, I agree that it would be useful to speed up the randomness
process.

Btw, consider doing something like:

gcry_control (GCRYCTL_ENABLE_QUICK_RANDOM, 0);

Then it will read from /dev/urandom even for public-key generation. Of
course, you are probably on your own wrt to security of these keys, and
you'll need to look into the libgcrypt code to understand exactly what
this does.

My G11 keyboard seems to be flaking somewhat. This results in
unpredictable USB disconnects, followed by near-immediate reconnects
on the same port.

I've also noticed it: I connected Logitech headphone to keyboard usb,
which caused power problem and thus disconnecting usb.

but I've not yet a real solution, which could handle also multiple
g15 keyboards.

Fix:

Make a backup:

Change all @ to %40:

Bug#486875: [Pkg-net-snmp-devel] Bug#486875: snmplib: PATCH: 1806336: fix -LS option parsing

2008-07-09 Thread Jochen Friedrich
Hi Mathieu,

Current version doesn't allow -LS option as described in the snmpcmd
manpage. This broke some of my test machines with invalid syslog facility: -
while using -LS 0-4 d which is working with current stable version.

As I don't want to allow messages of priority 5 (this will fill in my syslog),
 I'm marking this as important.

The fix is available upstream, see:
 http://net-snmp.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/net-snmp/trunk/net-snmp/snmplib/snmp_logging.c?r1=15443r2=16721,
  and 5.4.2 will fix it.

This patch is already included since 5.4.1~dfsg-5.

Please make sure your libsnmp15 is current. Your dependency information seems
to be incomplete:

Versions of packages snmpd depends on:
pn libsnmp9 none (no description available)

Thanks,
Jochen

Bug#490061: lockfile-create not found

Package: ntp
Version: 1:4.2.4p4+dfsg-6
Severity: normal

The script /etc/network/if-up.d/ntpdate checks for the existence
of /usr/bin/lockfile-create, then calls lockfile-create (without the
prepended path). For some reason, /usr/bin is not in $PATH, causing
the lock creation to fail. I suggest prepending /usr/bin/ to all
lockfile-* command invocations.

I had a brief look at the rest of the code, can you confirm

Added this to the security tracker and I'll request a CVE id

Bug#489858: Terminator 0.9 wrong dependence on python-gconf

2008-07-09 Thread Carlos Galisteo
I can't sponsor your upload since I'm not a DD.

Anyway, and given that I've been packaging beta versions (from upstream's git
repo) of terminator for my personal use, I've downloaded and tried to build
your package from mentors.d.o, and I'm afraid it FTBFS due to a wrong
dependence on python-gconf, which doesn't exists within Debian and should be
replaced by python-gnome2.

I've cc'd bts just for the record. It's fine to me if you want to reply just
to me (spanish is also welcome in private).

Hi,

anyRemote is ready[0] but I am awaiting that my sponsor upload this to
Debian.

[0] http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/a/anyremote/

 Package: anyremote
 Version: 4.2-1
 Severity: important

The current version of anyremote in unstable is 4.2, while on
 http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=162923package_id=184044
 already 4.6 is available.

I chose severity important because = 4.4 is needed for me to upload
kanyremote and ganyremote, frontends of anyremote for kde and gnome.

So this bug is blocking #486546 and #483679.

There isn't one in progress. Tonight there will be a release of
an update to handle CVE-2008-1693. I guess that will be the next
   one.

thanks for the update. I'll (im)patiently await the CVE-2008-2960 DSA.
etch is not affected by this vulnerability, thus I didn't include it in the
latest DSA upload. The DTSA was prepared, because it was vulnerable in lenny
and the issue was embargoed, thus no fix could be uploaded to unstable yet.
I have now marked it in the tracker accordingly.

Hope this information helps.

Thanks, that's all I wanted to know. I'll reassign this bug to libgcrypt then.

OK.

That being said, I just committed a patch to libotr to allow key
generation to be done in a background thread, but that doesn't really
  solve the problem.

Indeed, but that's still a worthy workaround. I'll get it into the package
 ASAP.

Be careful of packaging anything from the current CVS; the API is in the
process of undergoing major changes (to 4.0.0), and until that work is
finished, I wouldn't recommend releasing anything. Otherwise, you're
going to have major issues with versioning where two libraries that
claim to be libotr 4.0.0 will have incompatible APIs.

Bug#490062: Includes Message-ID header twice

2008-07-09 Thread Patrick Schoenfeld
Package: mantis
Version: 1.1.2-1
Severity: normal
Tags: confirmed

Hi,

I just noticed that mails produced by mantis contain a duplicate
Message-ID header. That is probably also true for older mantis versions
(like 1.0.8). Please note, that I'm tracking it, although it doesn't
affect a version in Debian so far. However the version will be in Debian
soon.

The problem is because mantis wants to add Message-ID headers in order
to enable threading. Unfortunately the phpmailer library does not
support that properly. There is an open bug report at phpmailer
upstream with a patch, but it seems to be not included. Probably its
worth inclusion into Debian then.. will report this to libphp-phpmailer,
too. This one is for the records.

Bug#489849: context: texexec --listing --dvipdfmx uses pdftex instead of dvipdfmx

2008-07-09 Thread Braun Gábor

How do you come to the idea that
--dvipdfmx
does something useful?

I have read the man page of texexec, which mentions the option:

  --dvipdfmx, --dvipdfm, --dpx, --dpm
Use the TeX engine (e.g. pdftex or pdfetex) to make a DVI file and
dvipdfmx(1) to turn it into PDF.

An example where the option works:
Test file test.tex:

\starttext
test
\stoptext

Command line:

texexec --dvipdfmx test

The last lines of the output, some of which is from dvipdfmx:

** WARNING ** Could not open config file fontmapsx.
test.dvi - test.pdf
[1]
1901 bytes written
TeXExec | runtime: 4.855625

Moreover, pdfinfo reports dvipdfmx as producer of test.pdf,
so I conclude that it was generated by dvipdfmx.

Best wishes,

 Gábor Braun

  (also of depending packages)

..or changing the priority of the libcgi-fast-perl to optional.

 * remove Fast.pm from libcgi-pm-perl and depend on libcgi-fast-perl;
that's happening right at the moment a few hundred kilometers to
the south east from, and maybe the newer package will already be
uploaded before this mail is finished :)

Neat. For the short term, this seems a simple fix.

 * in the long run it might be an idea to stop building
libcgi-fast-perl from the perl source package, add Fast.pm to
libcgi-pm-perl again, and create a dummy transitional package with
the usual conflicts/provides/replaces dance for libcgi-fast-perl
from the libcgi-pm-perl source package; Brendan and Niko, what do
  you think about this idea?

For 5.10, I moved the module to the vendor directory which on
reflection was probably a bad idea (debian/rules:233-236). I'd say
that the simplest solution would be to just reverse that decision,
which would allow libcgi-pm-perl to provide a newer version without
the path conflict.

I have random crashs on a program using pango because some memory
allocated with g_slice_new() is freed with g_free().

In this case, I don’t understand your patch. Why are you turning the
g_slice_new in g_new0 instead of fixing the wrong g_free’s?

There is 2 ways to fix the bug: either use g_slice functions for both
allocations and releases everywhere for this varible, or use
g_new0/g_free everywhere for this variable. My patch implements the
second way.

I thought it was not possible to use the g_slice functions
because g_slice_free() wants the type as parameter. The type is not
available in the file where the free is done because it is declared as
static in the other file. I was not aware that g_slice_free1() exists
and does not require the type.

Bug#465902: [pkg-cryptsetup-devel] Bug#465902: Works for me!

applied to the next version and an extended CryptoRoot.HowTo in
cryptsetup once the dropbear patches are in.

For the cryptsetup part it's not a question whether the patches work or
not, because the approach they use should not be necessary anymore.

Right. What I meant was the askpass binary here, which works for me to
unlock my root after having locked in through dropbear. Given that you
can now unlock your root by using

cat /lib/cryptsetup/passfifo

or

echo -n ... /lib/cryptsetup/passfifo

without having to kill any processes it looks to me as if #465902 can be
closed, which is my main point relating to this bug report besides
giving feedback on that askpass works, given that there were no further
mails in the BTS after your request for testing cryptsetup.

The only reason that I can see not to close the bug report would be if
you wanted to replace that cat/echo by some script within the
cryptsetup package. Of course one might argue if such a script 1) is
necessary and 2) whether it should belong to cryptsetup or dropbear. I
would tend to say cryptsetup here, because without cryptsetup it
wouldn't make any sense.

The question is rather if the dropbear initramfs script can be adapted to
use the askpass functionality that we've added to cryptsetup in order to
support this functionality. No changes should be necessary to cryptsetup
anymore.

Right, cryptsetup is ok. dropbear doesn't strictly need adaptation for
askpass as shown above, even though that might be convenient. It only
really needs the last patch attached to #465903 to make it into the
initramfs at all.

Thomas, you need to check with Chris on the status of updated patches.

As far as I can tell there are no open issues with the one for dropbear
(which is the only one missing), but I might try to get some info from
Chris and especially Gerrit Pape (dropbear maintainer) why there is no
progress.

Cheers

I have read the man page of texexec, which mentions the option:

Use the TeX engine (e.g. pdftex or pdfetex) to make a DVI file and
dvipdfmx(1) to turn it into PDF.

An example where the option works:
 Test file test.tex:

 \starttext

Ahhh slowly I got the point.

The switch --dvipdfmx DOES work, but NOT in combination with --listing.
Well, I am not completely surprised.

I guess I will forward it to the context list and let it rest in peace.

Hi Hans, Taco, all,

we got a minor bug report about the fact that
texexec --listing --dvipdfmx

generated with pdftex, and not with dvipdfmx.

Maybe you consider that as a feature, and honestly I don't see a reason
why one wants to switch the engine for a listing, but anyway, here I
forward it ;-)

Dear Developers,

Thank you for your quick reply. From your message I understand that the
solution is simple, however maybe it was better to rename the new ktorrent
(v3.x) instead of the old one (v2.2). This just seems matter of personal
choice, but I've been confused by it (I admit I'm a poor user :)). If you

need to reply to the archive mail once you've changed that so that
ftp-masters edit the override file accordingly to really make this
change happen.

Furthermore, the longdescription of this library package is just the
same as the one from tachyon. Please don't only mention it in the short
description that this is the shared libraries package but also in the
long description. I would guess you can skip the second paragraph in
favour of adding the hint that this is the shared library package.

Thanks,
Rhonda

Bug#409510: Political fork

2008-07-09 Thread W. Martin Borgert
If the two projects are forked, the code will diverge further.
Therefore the feature set and bugs will be different. Users may
want to use one or other command. So we will need alternatives.

Yes, indeed. This bug for example

My suggestion would then be to do a -1 without -dbg package and very soon
after do a -2 with dbg package. That way you get the new version to the
users immediately while -2 might be stuck in NEW queue. Adding new
packages needs manual processing by the ftp peoples.

 I Agree. Fixed. Uploaded.

Looks great. Just need to find a kde3 machine and test it, else it is ready.

If you feel like maintaining it in kde-extras team, this can also be arranged.
Yes, I'd like to. What is the procedure?

Bug#457382: tnef: new upstream version 1.4.4

2008-07-09 Thread Teodor
Package: tnef
Version: 1.4.3-2
Followup-For: Bug #457382

Upstream version 1.4.4 was released on 2008-05-30. Is there any chance
to make a final upload for 'tnef' with this version?

If there is no much trouble please take into considerations the
following issues too:
* there is only one bug reported against this package [1] and the fix is
trivial, maybe already included in the last version;
* missing HOMEPAGE field for the package [2];
* fix some of the recommendations from lintian [3].

Thanks
