Bug#1067855: seahorse: Segfault when uploading keys to keyserver
Package: seahorse Version: 43.0-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, trying to upload keys to a keyserver via Seahorse causes a segmentation fault. The upload itself appears to succeed, as the keys end up on the keyserver anyway. Here is the relevant backtrace: ```backtrace #0 0x555d0d75 in on_export_message_complete (object=, result=0x55c03620, user_data=) at ../pgp/seahorse-hkp-source.c:796 #1 0x77cb0ee3 in g_task_return_now (task=task@entry=0x55c03620 [GTask]) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1371 #2 0x77cb1b83 in g_task_return (type=, task=0x55c03620 [GTask]) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1440 #3 g_task_return (task=0x55c03620 [GTask], type=) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1397 #4 0x76f9b23a in send_and_read_splice_ready_cb (session=0x55c11f90 [SoupSession], result=0x55c3aa70, task=0x55c03620 [GTask]) at ../libsoup/soup-session.c:3290 #5 0x77cb0ee3 in g_task_return_now (task=task@entry=0x55c3aa70 [GTask]) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1371 #6 0x77cb1b83 in g_task_return (type=, task=0x55c3aa70 [GTask]) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1440 #7 g_task_return (task=0x55c3aa70 [GTask], type=) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1397 #8 0x76f9587d in send_and_splice_ready_cb (ostream=, result=, task=0x55c3aa70 [GTask]) at ../libsoup/soup-session.c:3432 #9 0x77cb0ee3 in g_task_return_now (task=task@entry=0x55fa1070 [GTask]) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1371 #10 0x77cb1b83 in g_task_return (type=, task=0x55fa1070 [GTask]) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1440 #11 g_task_return (task=0x55fa1070 [GTask], type=) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1397 #12 0x77c9145b in async_ready_splice_callback_wrapper (source_object=0x55bf94e0 [GMemoryOutputStream], res=0x55fad8a0, _data=0x55fa1070) at ../../../gio/goutputstream.c:1719 #13 0x77cb0ee3 in g_task_return_now (task=task@entry=0x55fad8a0 [GTask]) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1371 #14 0x77cb1b83 in g_task_return (type=, task=0x55fad8a0 [GTask]) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1440 #15 g_task_return (task=0x55fad8a0 [GTask], type=) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1397 #16 0x77c8dacc in real_splice_async_complete_cb (task=0x55fad8a0 [GTask]) at ../../../gio/goutputstream.c:2694 #17 0x77cb0ee3 in g_task_return_now (task=task@entry=0x5596db90 [GTask]) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1371 #18 0x77cb1b83 in g_task_return (type=, task=0x5596db90 [GTask]) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1440 #19 g_task_return (task=0x5596db90 [GTask], type=) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1397 #20 0x77c8da44 in async_ready_close_callback_wrapper (source_object=0x55bf94e0 [GMemoryOutputStream], res=0x55927a30, user_data=0x5596db90) at ../../../gio/goutputstream.c:1950 #21 0x77cb0ee3 in g_task_return_now (task=task@entry=0x55927a30 [GTask]) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1371 #22 0x77cb0f1d in complete_in_idle_cb (task=0x55927a30) at ../../../gio/gtask.c:1385 #23 0x77ea00d9 in g_main_dispatch (context=context@entry=0x5569af00) at ../../../glib/gmain.c:3476 #24 0x77ea3317 in g_main_context_dispatch_unlocked (context=0x5569af00) at ../../../glib/gmain.c:4284 #25 g_main_context_iterate_unlocked (context=context@entry=0x5569af00, block=block@entry=1, dispatch=dispatch@entry=1, self=) at ../../../glib/gmain.c:4349 #26 0x77ea3930 in g_main_context_iteration (context=context@entry=0x5569af00, may_block=may_block@entry=1) at ../../../glib/gmain.c:4414 #27 0x77ce0b7d in g_application_run (application=application@entry=0x55696060 [SeahorseApplication], argc=argc@entry=1, argv=argv@entry=0x7fffdf48) at ../../../gio/gapplication.c:2577 #28 0x5558169b in _vala_main (args_length1=1, args=0x7fffdf48) at src/seahorse.p/main.c:76 #29 main (argc=1, argv=0x7fffdf48) at src/seahorse.p/main.c:87 ``` Greetings Julian Groß -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (500, 'testing-debug'), (400, 'unstable'), (50, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.6.15-amd64 (SMP w/32 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages seahorse depends on: ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.40.0-4+b1 ii gcr 3.41.2-1 ii gnome-keyring42.1-1+b2 ii gnupg2.2.40-1.1 ii libc62.37-15 ii libgck-1-0 3.41.2-1 ii libgcr-base-3-1 3.41.2-1 ii libgcr-ui-3-13.41.2-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf-2.0-0
Bug#1059106: lists.debian.org: Cannot interact with debian-kernel mailing list
Package: lists.debian.org Severity: important Dear Maintainer, the debian-kernel mailing list is suffering from problems right now: Trying to subscribe to the mailing list, yields a 304 Gateway Timed Out message after multiple minutes of waiting. Though right as I am writing this, it does seem to have accepted my subscription after multiple minutes of loading this time. So presumably the server is just completely overburdened? Sending an email to debian-ker...@lists.debian.org without being subscribed, has the system report that the email "was successfully delivered", but it doesn't show up in the mailing list archive at https://lists.debian.org/debian-kernel/2023/12/maillist.html and there is no proper receipt other than the native Successful Mail Delivery Report. Greetings Julian Groß
Bug#1055058: handbrake-cli: Encoding with svt_av1 or svt_av1_10bit fails
Package: handbrake-cli Version: 1.6.1+ds1-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, trying to encode a video with svt_av1 or svt_av1_10bit fails. Steps to reproduce: - Download a video like this one from the Blender Foundation `wget https://video.blender.org/download/videos/42b7eb01-6cc0-403a-a623-b2a530ad24bb-1080.mp4` - Try reencoding it to AV1 `HandBrakeCLI -i 42b7eb01-6cc0-403a-a623-b2a530ad24bb-1080.mp4 -o svt_av1_10bit_test.webm -f av_webm -O -e svt_av1_10bit` This also happens on the GUI version of Handbrake. For reference, I am running an Intel A770 16GB graphics card which is supposed to have AV1 hardware accelerated encoding; I am wondering if that has something to do with it. Output of vainfo is attached. The full log of the error is attached. Bug#1034457: libqt5quick5: Qt segfault on amd64
Package: libqt5quick5 Version: 5.15.8+dfsg-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, we ran into what appears to be a segmentation fault in Qt. One of the last places it runs into is QQuickOpenGLShaderEffectCommon which is why I am reporting it towards this package. I dumped a core file from GDB, which should contain everything needed to debug this further, since debugging symbols for pretty much anything Qt are installed. You can find it here: https://data.moto9000.moe/qt/1/core.191885.tar.xz (12,3 GiB when uncompressed) I will just put the backtrace in here: ``` #0 0x in () #1 0x7f8f43eba269 in QMetaObject::cast(QObject const*) const (this=0x7f8f44143140 , obj=0x55b8ddf56be0) at kernel/qmetaobject.cpp:389 #2 0x7f8f43eba2a5 in QMetaObject::cast(QObject*) const (this=, obj=) at kernel/qmetaobject.cpp:378 #3 0x7f8f42b6422a in qobject_cast(QObject*) (object=) at /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtCore/qobject.h:519 #4 QtPrivate::QVariantValueHelper::object(QVariant const&) (v=[Thread 0x7f8e4a7fc6c0 (LWP 192005) exited] [Thread 0x7f8d7d9c36c0 (LWP 192105) exited] [New Thread 0x7f8e86ffd6c0 (LWP 195762)] [New Thread 0x7f8e87fff6c0 (LWP 195761)] [New Thread 0x7f8e4a7fc6c0 (LWP 195758)] [Thread 0x7f8e609e56c0 (LWP 192001) exited] [New Thread 0x7f8f0d3fc6c0 (LWP 195757)] [Thread 0x7f8e84ff96c0 (LWP 191983) exited] [Thread 0x7f8e857fa6c0 (LWP 191982) exited] [Thread 0x7f8e85ffb6c0 (LWP 191981) exited] [Thread 0x7f8e867fc6c0 (LWP 191980) exited] [Thread 0x7f8e86ffd6c0 (LWP 191979) exited] [Thread 0x7f8e877fe6c0 (LWP 191978) exited] [Thread 0x7f8e87fff6c0 (LWP 191977) exited] [Thread 0x7f8ea577f6c0 (LWP 191976) exited] [Thread 0x7f8ea6a8b6c0 (LWP 191975) exited] [New Thread 0x7f8e877fe6c0 (LWP 195763)] [Thread 0x7f8f0d3fc6c0 (LWP 191939) exited] [Thread 0x7f8d5ebff6c0 (LWP 192247) exited] QVariant(QQuickItem*, 0x55b8ddf56be0)) at /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtCore/qvariant.h:753 #5 QtPrivate::ObjectInvoker, QVariant const&, QObject*>::invoke(QVariant const&) (a=QVariant(QQuickItem*, 0x55b8ddf56be0)) at /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtCore/qvariant.h:107 #6 qvariant_cast(QVariant const&) (v=[New Thread 0x7f8d5ebff6c0 (LWP 195764)] QVariant(QQuickItem*, 0x55b8ddf56be0)) at /usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/QtCore/qvariant.h:879 #7 QQuickOpenGLShaderEffectCommon::disconnectPropertySignals(QQuickItem*, QQuickOpenGLShaderEffectMaterialKey::ShaderType) (this=this@entry=0x55b8e7f311d8, item=0x55b8e7eb0930, shaderType=shaderType@entry=QQuickOpenGLShaderEffectMaterialKey::FragmentShader) at items/qquickopenglshadereffect.cpp:238 #8 0x7f8f42b65d7a in QQuickOpenGLShaderEffect::~QQuickOpenGLShaderEffect() (this=0x55b8e7f31170, __in_chrg=) at items/qquickopenglshadereffect.cpp:660 #9 0x7f8f42b65e29 in QQuickOpenGLShaderEffect::~QQuickOpenGLShaderEffect() (this=0x55b8e7f31170, __in_chrg=) at items/qquickopenglshadereffect.cpp:661 #10 0x7f8f42b5e563 in QQuickShaderEffect::~QQuickShaderEffect() (this=this@entry=0x55b8e7eb0930, __in_chrg=) at items/qquickshadereffect.cpp:535 #11 0x7f8f42bd0a35 in QQmlPrivate::QQmlElement::~QQmlElement() (this=0x55b8e7eb0930, __in_chrg=) at ../../include/QtQml/../../src/qml/qml/qqmlprivate.h:144 #12 QQmlPrivate::QQmlElement::~QQmlElement() (this=0x55b8e7eb0930, __in_chrg=) at ../../include/QtQml/../../src/qml/qml/qqmlprivate.h:144 #13 0x7f8f43edb28e in QObjectPrivate::deleteChildren() (this=this@entry=0x55b8e4008a00) at kernel/qobject.cpp:2137 #14 0x7f8f43ee7054 in QObject::~QObject() (this=this@entry=0x55b8e7fd9e40, __in_chrg=) at kernel/qobject.cpp:1115 #15 0x7f8f42a566a2 in QQuickItem::~QQuickItem() (this=this@entry=0x55b8e7fd9e40, __in_chrg=) at items/qquickitem.cpp:2388 #16 0x7f8f42bd03e5 in QQmlPrivate::QQmlElement::~QQmlElement() (this=0x55b8e7fd9e40, __in_chrg=) at ../../include/QtQml/../../src/qml/qml/qqmlprivate.h:144 #17 QQmlPrivate::QQmlElement::~QQmlElement() (this=0x55b8e7fd9e40, __in_chrg=) at ../../include/QtQml/../../src/qml/qml/qqmlprivate.h:144 #18 0x7f8f43edb28e in QObjectPrivate::deleteChildren() (this=this@entry=0x55b8e7fd9960) at kernel/qobject.cpp:2137 #19 0x7f8f43ee7054 in QObject::~QObject() (this=this@entry=0x55b8e7f5a030, __in_chrg=) at kernel/qobject.cpp:1115 #20 0x7f8f42a566a2 in QQuickItem::~QQuickItem() (this=this@entry=0x55b8e7f5a030, __in_chrg=) at items/qquickitem.cpp:2388 #21 0x7f8f42bd03e5 in QQmlPrivate::QQmlElement::~QQmlElement() (this=0x55b8e7f5a030, __in_chrg=) at ../../include/QtQml/../../src/qml/qml/qqmlprivate.h:144 #22 QQmlPrivate::QQmlElement::~QQmlElement() (this=0x55b8e7f5a030, __in_chrg=) at ../../include/QtQml/../../src/qml/qml/qqmlprivate.h:144 #23 0x7f8f43edb28e in QObjectPrivate::deleteChildren() (this=this@entry=0x55b8e7f59cc0) at kernel/qobject.cpp:2137 #24 0x7f8f43ee7054 in QObject::~QObject() (this=this@entry=0x55b8e7f59c00, __in_chrg=) at kernel/qobject.cpp:1115 #25 0x7f8f42a566a2 in QQuickItem::~QQuickI
Bug#1034117: (no subject)
Turns out that this is an “assumption” problem and not a bug. I assumed that the default behaviour would be to set up sources. Turns out that the default behaviour of the installer is to *not* set up the sources, but only set up the installation media as a source. Having the option for that seems sane, but shouldn't setting up network sources be the default selection? It seems to me that 99% of the time, people will want apt to be able to get packages from outside the installation media. Bug#1025907: package-update-indicator no longer alerts user to available updates
I looked into it a little and I also think that this is most likely a packagekit issue. I reported the issue towards the packagekit package with some additional info. https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1030179 Greetings Julian Groß OpenPGP_0xAF605C87F9E5AE94.asc Description: OpenPGP public key OpenPGP_signature Description: OpenPGP digital signature
Bug#1030179: packagekit: update to 1.2.6 breaks package package-update-indicator
Package: packagekit Version: 1.2.6-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, the update from 1.2.5 to 1.2.6 broke the package-update-indicator package. There is a bug report on the affected package here: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1025907 After looking at the debug looks and glancing at the code, it looks to me like the newest packagekit version just ends up telling it that there is no updates available (even if there are updates available). Attached are package-update-indicator debug logs with 1.2.5 and 1.2.6. While it says that it is using the "apt" backend instead of "aptcc", I *think* it gets that backend name from packagekit. It isn't defined anywhere in the package-update-indicator source code. Bug#1028309: linux-image-6.0.0-6-amd64: Regression in Kernel 6.0: System partially freezes with "nvme controller is down"
My computer just froze on Kernel version 5.19.11-1. Though nothing got logged. Now I don't know if this is the same issue and newer kernels just behave better in terms of logging, or if this is a different issue.. I guess I will add a second screen to my computer, open journalctl on there, and point a camera at it to capture the issue. I am pretty sure that I have had it not log on a 6.0 Kernel as well, but since I have been troubleshooting this for weeks now I am not completely sure. The way I understand the `git bisect`, and with the issue taking sometimes days to happen, I will be sitting on this for months by the way. What happens if I give `git bisect` a false “good”? Because it is perfectly possible that my computer will run fine for 48 hours; I will tell git bisect that the revision is good; But the issue actually didn't trigger just by chance, instead of it not being in the revision. Bug#1023631: firmware-misc-nonfree: Possibly missing firmware for Creative Labs Sound Blaster Z PCIe sound card
Package: firmware-misc-nonfree Version: 20221012-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, I have been running into weird behaviour on my Creative Labs Sound Blaster Z (Serial number either SB1500 or SB1502). Not knowing much about this sort of thing, I am assuming the driver is falling back to the firmware for a different sound card, which might be causing a bunch of my issues. -- System Information: Debian Release: bookworm/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.0.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_FIRMWARE_WORKAROUND, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled firmware-misc-nonfree depends on no packages. firmware-misc-nonfree recommends no packages. Bug#1018072: RFP: quickemu -- Quickly create and run highly optimised desktop virtual machines for Linux, macOS and Windows.
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: quickemu * URL : https://github.com/quickemu-project/quickemu * License : MIT Programming Lang: Bash, Python Description : Quickly create and run highly optimised desktop virtual machines for Linux, macOS and Windows. Quickemu is a wrapper for the excellent QEMU that attempts to automatically "do the right thing", rather than expose exhaustive configuration options. Additional information: QuickEmu has been a nice alternative to VirtualBox for me for almost a year now. The quickget command can automagically download and prepare virtual machines, while the quickemu command runs virtual machines based on a simple config file that is typically created by quickget. There is also a GUI available named Quickgui, however last time I checked that was still pretty barebones. There is also a Debian packaging repository available at https://github.com/quickemu-project/packaging which doesn't seem to actually be used anywhere. Maintainance: As weird as it might sound coming from the person requesting the package, I would package it myself it there was a sponsor for it. Reason being that I have never packaged anything for the official Debian repositories and have a lot of higher priority stuff to do before learning *proper* Debian packaging.

Package: supertuxkart Version: 1.3+dfsg1-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, the SuperTuxKart package runs with substantially worse performance than the standalone binaries from supertuxkart.net Depending on the situation, my framerate increases by 40-80 FPS when switching to the standalone binaries. According to a dev, they don't do anything special with their builds. They only have compiler optimization enabled. ("g++ -Ofast") To me it feels like compiler optimization might just be off for the Debian package. As far as I am aware, both releases are built from the same source version and both use the same configuration (graphics settings, etc.) at runtime.
