Dimming and display sleep stop working, on battery power, if brightness had been manually adjusted before. For each time dimming stops working i have to set manually /apps/gnome- power-manager/backlight/idle_dim_time and then it works again. I have a similar issue on an HP Mini 110. The screen does not dim upon switching to battery power and vice-versa. Perhaps check the bios for built in option for screen dimming. I have fixed this bug! Adding this parameter to boot offers the correct behavior of screen brightness. The brightness no longer goes down, however the indicator applet for the brightness shows up every 10 seconds for each key press.
