Re: [slim] Some setup help please

2011-02-08 Thread Koensk

Ok I got myself an old pc. Installed voretexbox on it and it all seems
to work. I am able to connect to the voretexbox via network under
windows. And I can get to the menu of the box by typing the ip adres
under firefox. So far so good.

The only problem I have is that I don't get to copy my music files from
my nas to the voretex box. Windows give me the error that I don't have
the rights to make the action.
Is there a way to login with putty and give the copy command in linux.
I think I have to login as root, but with windows explorer I don't know
how to do that.

I tried googling for a solution but it's really hard finding the right
information.

Though I noticed squeezeserver interface is running much faster under
voretexbox ;-). Now it's waiting for the music :-)

[slim] [ANNOUNCE] Playback comes to iPeng

2011-02-08 Thread pippin

*Playback Comes to iPeng*
Here#8217;s the first new release in 2011 and it brings you a
long-awaited functionality for iPeng: Playback.

*How Does it Work?*
iPeng Playback will make your iOS device show up on a Squeezebox Server
like any other Squeezebox Player and you control it just like that, too.

*What Does it Support*
iPeng Playback supports Squeezebox Server versions 7.3 and newer
(previous versions back to 7.0 might work but are untested).

It plays the following file formats natively (that means: on the device
itself):
#8226; MP3
#8226; AAC
#8226; FLAC*)
#8226; ALAC*)
WMA is supported but currently untested.

Other formats can be used if your server supports transcoding and can
encode them to FLAC. This depends on the available processing power and
the file format involved.

**) Cellular Network Operation*
When you use iPeng playback outside a WiFi network, over the cellular
network, the #8220;lossless#8221; formats FLAC and ALAC will not be
available to limit the bandwidth requirements. In this case, your
server will have to support transcoding to MP3, which generally
requires more processing power than FLAC encoding and you will have to
have the necessary encoding software installed.

*What are the Limitations?*
iPeng Playback does NOT work directly with MySqueezebox.com.

MySqueezebox.com is a service offered and run by Logitech in support of
their own hardware and Logitech had to get approval from all of their
content partners supported by it to use their services. This does not
cover use on iOS so it#8217;s not possible for us right now to use
that service.
Also, I don#8217;t believe this will be a big limitation since most of
the services available through MySqueezebox.com can already be used
through existing radio Apps for iOS or by the respective iOS Apps that
these services provide themselves.

I believe the biggest value of this feature lies in the capability to
use your own library on the iOS device without having to sync it to the
device.

*Do I Have to Pay for Playback?*
If you own only one iPeng version: yes.

Providing this capability along with continuing development of
iPeng#8217;s users interfaces and other functionalities (there#8217;s
a lot more exciting stuff coming up in 2011!) simply is too much work to
be ever done for free.

In this particular case I used an implementation by James Fearon,
who#8217;s done all of the audio stuff and of course he wants to be
rewarded for his hard work, too. Especially given that this will
actually compete with his own App. I definitely can#8217;t afford to
pay him for all the users who have already purchased iPeng in the past,
so this feature is only available as an #8220;In App Purchase#8221;.

*Get Playback for Free if You Own iPeng for iPhone and for iPad*
There#8217;s one exception: Those users who bought both the iPhone and
the iPad version of iPeng can get the playback feature for free.

I regard this as a little #8220;kickback#8221; to true customers. As
I#8217;ve written before, I would have loved to be able to give
discounts to those who purchase both Apps but due to the structure of
the App Store I can#8217;t do that and I also could not afford to make
the iPad version a completely free update. So this is how I want to give
you a little delayed discount.

How do you get it?

1. Install both Apps (iPeng for iPhone and iPeng for iPad) on your
iPad. If you have not used iPeng for iPhone on your iPad: As long as
you are using the same iTunes account as for your original purchase on
iPhone or iPod, downloading it again on the iPad will be free; you can
generally use App Store purchases on several devices. This is also true
for In App Purchases (for the same App).
2. Start one of the Apps and go to #8220;Settings-Enable
Playback-You own both iPeng for iPad and iPeng for iPhone? Get
Playback for free!#8221;.
3. Press #8220;Create Code#8221;. This will create a voucher code
that is valid in the OTHER App. Note: this code will only be valid for
a limited time but you can create a new one at any time.
4. When the code shows up in the entry field at the top of the page,
#8220;hold#8221; the code text for a second and release to get the
popup menu, then select #8220;Select#8221; and #8220;Copy#8221; to
copy the code to the clipboard.
5. Leave the App and start the OTHER iPeng App on the iPad. Go to the
same menu and do the #8220;hold#8221; in the empty text field, then
select #8220;Paste#8221; from the popup menu.
6. Now press #8220;Validate Code#8221; and the playback feature will
be enabled. Enabling the feature in one App will enable it for both
Apps on that device.
7. Back Up your App Data with iTunes. We don#8217;t guarantee that
this offer will be available in future versions of iPeng but once
enabled, Playback will stay activated.
8. If you want to use the feature on other iOS devices, too, you need
to first backup your App data on the iPad by synchronizing it with
iTunes. Then you have to

Update iPeng to 1.3 and then you can purchase it through the
Settings-Enable Playback menu option.
It's currently being rolled out on the App Store so might not yet be
available in all countries (although I do already see it in Germany
which is usually rather late) but will show up sometimes today.

Hi Pippin

This is fantastic - it's a feature I've been looking forward to for a
long time.

I'm quite happy to pay the additional £2.99 for this on my iPhone, and
I expect this is the best way to do it in my case, because the iPad
version that I've bought was a gift purchase for my wife's iPad. But
can you just clarify - if I start the iPad version on my wife's iPad,
create the voucher code and then enter the voucher code in my iPhone
version will that work? I suspect not because our iPad version is
associated with my wife's iTunes account, even though the funds for the
iTunes gift purchase came from mine. Assuming this wouldn't work, would
I then have to pay another £2.99 to get playback on the iPad version as
well?

Re: [slim] Where are your CDs?

2011-02-08 Thread TheLastMan

ralphpnj;609048 Wrote:
Actually in the early days of CDs I took a completely different
approach. I went out and bought myself a very nice turntable (a used
Linn LP12) and while all my friends were busy replacing their vinyl
collections with little silver discs I only bought CDs of new
 material.
 Me too!

In the mid 1990's the record shops were selling off the last of their
LP stock. I remember picking up 10 LPs from HMV, all ones I actually
wanted, for £1.50 each. The same thing seems to be happening now with
CDs. I just picked up three U2 CDs (October, Pop and How to Dismantle
an Atomic Bomb) from a clearance sale at HMV in Oxford Street at £3
each. Their CD stock is thinning out alarmingly - I have had
difficulty buying a lot of back-catalogue items recently and taken to
e-bay to find those older recordings.
The LPs sounded great then and still sound great today. You should try
recording some of them onto digital files. You get the
best of both worlds then. I have recorded 300 LPs to FLAC so far, about
half of my collection, many of which are not available either on CD or
digital.
The funny thing is with the advent of streaming music and digital
downloads the days of the CD are clearly numbered and yet there is no
replacement for good old vinyl. In other words, long after CDs are
replaced by digital files vinyl will live on.
I am not sure what you are getting at here. CD replaced LP, yet there
are still many of us stalwarts out here enjoying our LP collections. I
am sure that when CD finally gets replaced by digital files there will
be plenty of old fogies out there enjoying their CD collection in the
same way as I enjoy my LP collection. LPs were the recording medium of
*my* youth so I have a nostalgia for slipping the LP from its sleeve
and dropping the needle in the groove - hearing that crackly lead in
give way to music. I am sure many of those brought up with CD will get
the same kick from flipping the disk out of its jewel case and watching
the disk tray slide home.

By the same token ebooks may well replace the novel but may never
replace those large format glossy photo books aka coffee table books.
You are right, but I think books generally are more of a technological
challenge than LPs and CDs. CDs only have music on them (in most
cases) so you can fit *any* music into a digital file. However books
come in all shapes and sizes and often contain a complex mixture of
text, photos and graphics. I think the novel translates neatly to the
Kindle, but a travel guide? Or a medical text book? Graphic novel?
Pop-up children's book? Try putting Where's Wally on a Kindle!

One day we may get fold-out reading devices up to A3 size with full
colour reflective screens with a true white background that can do
600dpi photos or line art with no backlight and with a 2 week battery
life (don't hold your breath!). But until then there is little threat
to a large proportion of books.

Both Apps have to run on the same device. If they do, this will work,
if they don't it will not.
Sorry, but iTunes purchases are always bound to the account, that's
something I can't get out of and my mechanism only works on the same
device as I can't access the iTunes account directly.
It's also not possible to sell one in-app-purchase from two Apps.

I'm also not perfectly happy with it but it's a result of the keep it
simple approach of the App Store which DOES have it's benefits as
well.

SHIT!!!

Looks like the FLAC library is not compiled for arm7, this is what's
causing the crash on all iPod touch 1G, 2G, iPhone 1 and 3G devices.
I'll try to fasttrack an update with Apple.

This is kind of a messy thing: You can't test the App Store builds
because they require an Apple signature to run and in all my other
build settings this was OK.
What good is the damn App Store review process if - after almost two
weeks - they don't even find basic incompatibilities like that.

That's because your local SBS server is a different FW version than is
on MySB.com. Your options are:
1. update your SBS to 7.5.3, now they will be the same FW and no

2. don't switch between SBS and MySB
3. do switch between them and get annoying update each time

Re: [slim] Some setup help please

2011-02-08 Thread garym

You have to be a bit careful. You may be trying to copy the files to the
wrong directory. It can be confusing with the vortexbox.

The folder you add music to is \\vortexbox\files\music\flac
Notice this is DIFFERENT than the directory you point SbS to for
reading the files (this is \\vortexbox\music\flac). Notice the files
subdirectory in the first case that is not in the second.

Also note that if you have mp3 or AAC files (with no flac counterpart),
you'll still want these to be in the FLAC subdirectory. What I do is
have the following directory structure on my vortexbox

files/music/flac flac files
files/music/flac/mp3_AAC_only this subdirectory holds all my nonflac
files where I have no Flac counterpart

note that: files/music/mp3 subdirectories are your MIRROR of flac files
from files/music/flac directory.

See this FAQ:
http://vortexbox.org/documentation/how-do-i-copy-my-existing-flac-files-to-my-vortexbox/

Re: [slim] No more free last.fm on the SB!

2011-02-08 Thread mjm2705

I'm torn on this ... I love last.fm as a means to scrobble stuff and see
what I'm listening to (I know that no-one else cares but it keeps me
amused) ... yes this will continue to be free, for now.

I also love using last.fm as a music discovery tool and have lost count
of how much I have spent on CD's and downloads of artists I discovered
via Last.fm that I would never have heard of otherwise. But I only
ever investigated new music via last.fm sporadically and at times when
nothing else seemed appropriate to listed to at the time ... this would
have been a few times a month but those session could have made me
explore 6 or 8 artists and buy the same or more CD's / downloads.

Am I willing to pay £3 a month for the ability to be able to go and
search out new music? Possible, I subscribe to Q and NME in print to
effectively do the same I guess ... am I likely to? probably not ... I
might explore Napster instead as I can at least then listen to the stuff
Q NME tell me is worth listening to.

But I have to say that my life would be worse off without Mono,
Explosions in the Sky, Kevin Devine, Manchester Orchestra, The Radio
Dept, Air Formation, Malory etc whom I would never have experienced
without Last.fm

I think the record companies should be funding last.fm to encourage
people like me to find new sources of listening and therefore create
new sources of revenue ... now that's a business model !!!

2011-02-08 Thread maggior

Hey Pippin -

I saw this update pop up on my iPod Touch this morning and couldn't
resist grabbing the update right then and there. When I saw that
playback was a separate purchase, of course I had to do that right then
and there too :-).

I just played about 1 minute of FLAC on it and it seemed to work
great!

I'll verify this for myself later, but is the player gapless (I hope
so)? If so, is it gapless for all formats? I'm especially interested
in FLAC and LAME encoded mp3.

Thanks for a great update! I hope you can work through your glitch
with the earlier versions of the iPod Touch quickly.

[slim] Harry Potter on Squeezebox

2011-02-08 Thread ovonrein

By popular demand, I ripped some audio books for my children the other
day. Some have an incredible number of tracks - total book 500
tracks. I worked out that initially the books would not play to the
end because there's a limit on the playlist. I forget what it was -
seemed reasonable. Anyway, increasing this solved the problem.
However, even having this many files in the file tree turns out to be a
PITA. Tried to manages the tags and my tag editor took a DEEP BREATH
... and paused for a bit. So instead, I decided to rip by chapter, not
track. That's nice - only 40 odd files. Trouble is that my young ones
are complaining because the SB track navigation is a bit hit'n'miss.
Now, I read somewhere that someone's invented a new file format /
tagging system that allows one to mark points within a track? And then
navigate to those soft points? Does that ring a bell with anyone? Is
that something the SB will support? And if so, how do I go about it?

Thank you very much.

[slim] Seeking High Bitrate Music Streaming Service

2011-02-08 Thread jeffwdc

Hello All,
I have a Squeezbox Duet and have been exploring different Internet
Radio and Music Streaming Services (Last.fm, Slacker, Pandora) for many
months. I cannot find a service that has Squeezbox support and streams
at 256Kb or higher. Heck, I'd even consider 192Kb. In fact, very few
services stream greater than 128Kb regardless of Squeezebox support.
MOG looks interesting because they stream at 320Kb and they have over
10 million tracks in their catalog for $5 per month. But, MOG doesn't
support Squeezebox.

Does anyone know a service comparable to MOG and can be played via
Squeezebox? I'd be happy to pay a monthly fee to get the high
bitrate.

Or, does anyone know how to get MOG to play through Squeezebox (without
official App support)? For me, music control via the Squeezebox remote
control is essential. Thanks.

[slim] Re-visiting Wolfgang's Vault on Squeezebox

About once a year I bug Wolfgang's Vault asking that they make their
streaming (at least for premium members) available to SB users. I noted
that recently they are now on SONOS. Any others that are interested
should contact them via their web contact and ask for squeezebox
support.

My response from Wolfgang's Vault (basically the response I always
get).

Thanks for writing in and sharing. We have had some members voice the
same concern about supporting the Logitech Squeeze Box. Although our
current applications only support the iPhone, Sonos, and Boxee, we are
working hard to obtain more great content and extend our services to a
wider array of devices.

[slim] Frozen SB 2 issue

2011-02-08 Thread solent

Hi,
I have a SqueezeBox 2 which is completely frozen.

The issue appears to relate to using LazySearch, it's been showing for
a while as:
Search with LazySearch
Play a track
Hit the left button
Screen shows 'The Current playlist'
Box is now frozen and ignores every button on the remote for about 60
seconds.
The only way out is to wait until the 60 seconds is up and the screen
returns to the now playing screen, at which point I can switch off and
on again.

However, today played a track without repeat, after the track had
finished I pressed the left arrow and the unit went into the frozen
state described above, but will not return to the now playing screen:
it is stuck as frozen. I have tried rebooting (remove power and
re-apply) but after booting it just goes back to the current playlist
frozen screen again.

Is there any way to get the unit out of this frozen state?

Re: [slim] Harry Potter on Squeezebox

2011-02-08 Thread ovonrein

@AndyG: Well, there are any number of challenges with that
implementaion:
(1) The over-loading of the track skip buttons (on the remote) with
the track pointer feature is unpleasant to work (if your (little)
finger jitters a bit, then you did not quite hold it down long enough
for the SB to understand that you want to place the track pointer, and
it will instead assume you wanted to skip). I think it used to be even
worse (when it would revert to skip as soon as you let go of the button)
- it seems better now (where it hangs around a bit in track pointer
mode). Still, feels clumsy (not that I'd have any great suggestions
for improvements, sorry).
(2) I still have no idea how to place a track pointer from the web
control panel, which might be easier to place.
(3) My kids simply forget which minute they had listened up to.
Coming back and trying to iterate towards a spot is just painful.

@Chill: Unfortunately, I do not recall where I read what little I
recollect. That's why I am throwing it out here, to see whether it
rings any bells with someone. I think it might have been a
successor/extension/enhancement to ID3? Bookmarking sounds
reasonable. How did your MP3 player work this?

Re: [slim] creating smart playlist

2011-02-08 Thread garym

How about using mp3tag. first create a custom column to display the
bitrate info. For example, use this as the value in a custom column:
%_bitrate% kb/s $left(%_vbr%,1)

then sort your files by that column. Then you can select large numbers
all at once, and assign a custom field within your tags based on the
bitrate (or use some otherwise unused tag, e.g., contentgroup).

Then you can use this tag within one of erlands playlist plugins.

The sequence I went through probably wasn't very efficient as I was
googling and experimenting at the same time. I'm sure I went through a
bunch of unnecessary steps! But the first and most important step was
finding the previous version of the app in the windows recycle bin
where the update had put it and saving it to the desktop.

I then deleted the new version from the Touch and from iTunes. Stopped
iTunes. Right clicked on the old version and did Open With...iTunes.
Synced and the old version got copied to the Touch. Or something like
that :) Suffice to say that as long as you can find the old version you
should be able to re-install it. I'm sure there is a decent set of
instructions around somewhere!

[slim] Problem with radio station(s)

2011-02-08 Thread j.com

Hi all, new member here and first post. I do like the concept of the
squeeze system but it's darn near a part time job trying to figure it
all out. Overall I'm satisfied. I have a Radio and a Boom for 2 months
now and having some difficulty streaming some radio stations. I am
using sbs 7.5.3 r31792 on a windows 7 setup. Wireless with 80%-100%
signal.Server wired. First station is KLEJ. Up untill about a month
ago I could stream this no problem. Now it won't play. I contacted
Liquid Compass 3 weeks ago with no response yet. KLEJ was also kind
enough to contact them with no response either. Hmm. Can anyone else
get this to work and if so how? Another station Foggy Mountain
(internet only?) sometimes plays, sometimes not. Seems like a crap
shoot a some stations. Maybe play today maybe not. Some stations NEVER
play so why are they even in the menu? Kind of frustrating as I like
internet radio. Thanks for giving a newb a hand.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I'm in the US. Yes I prefer a
service that keeps track of the tracks I like and dislike. Spotify
looks good, but it's not available in the US. There are some hacks on
getting it to work in the US. I haven't tried it yet. Also, the
Spotify Squeezebox App isn't available here. Has anyone in the US been
able to get this App?

In another post on this forum
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80867highlight=mog, a
Squeezebox plugin called WAV will take any music playing on a PC and
stream it to the Squeezebox. If I can't get a Spotify App, then
perhaps I'll use the WAV plugin to access it or MOG. I guess the
Squeezebox Controller won't be useful with this scenario. I'll have to
use my laptop to vote on tracks, skip, etc.

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Playback comes to iPeng

2011-02-08 Thread epoch1970

Pippin,
this is a wonderful update.

I got playback for free on the iPad, tried it and found the effect
magic enough to warrant paying the 4€ in-app purchase on my iPhone:
- my iPhone goes to work, and my lazy iPad stays at home all day. I
feared the cross-backup procedure would have nixed my contacts and
stuff.
- anyways I don't mind paying 2€ per device given the service, and the
feature seems more valuable -to me- on iPhone since my pants have
regular size pockets.

IMHO you could put your users out of misery by just saying that
playback is free on iPad when you have both iPhone and iPad apps.

Kudos to you and the author of Squeezy.

Flac plays fine indeed. I immediately tried to sync the iPad and
iPhone, and moving around the appartment I soon got the devices to lose
sync. (My iPad uses a wifi N network and the iPhone connects to a wifi-G
channel.)
I this to be expected, as for other soft players ?

Anyway that was just for fun. Now my iPhone gives me exactly the
service I never could obtain for that poor Controller thing! A mighty
good deal for a few bucks.

 This on Windows 7.

I have one instance on native Ubuntu 10.04 and am seeing:

1. Squeezebox 3 looks fine...I turn it on and try to go to the library.
I immediately get the Can't connect to server... message. It
eventually goes away and everything works fine, as far as I can tell.
I have not noticed issues once music from my library is playing, but
I'm usually playing it while I fall asleep, so I could be missing
something.

2. Alarm doesn't work with a dynamic playlist, I just get the
beep-beep-beep backup.

3. Radio Paradise seems to go silent fairly frequently.

I have another instance running on Ubuntu 10.10 in VMware under Windows
7 and am seeing:

1. Same Can't connect... issue as above.

2. I use this instance almost exclusively to play never played albums
via dynamic playlists/custom skip. I've twice had it add a new album to
the playlist, immediately jump to the last track and stop without adding
anything new.

I have not had a problem with either instance when I specifically
select and play an album or track...typing this while listening to a
Touch right now without issue.

Yes, they do.
They play lossless when you are on a WiFi network and need to be
transcoded over cellular networks due to bandwidth limitations. See the
announcement above.

If you haven't synced it it should not be on the phone yet.
You can just delete an App in iTunes by deleting it from the Apps
section in the left hand pane (in your library).

Well, essentially this is what we are trying to do here.
The problem is that Apple doesn't give you ANY access to user, account
or App information so the only solution I could come up with was this
somewhat awkward process.

Well, I hope we will get sync to work better eventually; this should
really work.
For me it sometimes works pretty well and sometimes it doesn't work at
all, this is why I did not mention it as a feature.

OK. When I switch to iPeng, the music fades out and stops. When I try
to restart it in iPeng, sometimes it would start and abruptly stop.
Eventually it started working, but the music does stop when I leave
iPeng, go to squeezecast, and come back to iPeng. Hitting play starts
the music again.

Is there some confusion between the two since they each have the same
MAC/IP Address yet are different players? I noticed that iPeng
automatically picked up the name of the squeezecast player - from
squeezecenter's prespective I guess both players are one in the same
due to each having the same MAC/IP address.

Is using squeezecast with iPeng no longer a supported configuration?

Thanks!

I need your help Pippin. I stream fine to my ipad over wifi but when I
switch to 3G I have no server found. I must be missing something
obvious but couldn't locate any information regarding settings. I did
forward port 3483 on my router. Any other suggestions?

Re: [slim] RFE: Add option for saving sleep time and randomize playlist with favorites

2011-02-08 Thread peterw

I'm *soo* close to being able to offer you that. A while back I worked
on a plugin that adds two new protocols for Squeezebox. One is for
executing CLI commands like sleep 900 (900 = 15 minutes). Another is
for executing commands on the machine running Squeezebox Server. The
idea is that these become tracks that you can add to playlists. So
you could have a playlist like

squeezecli: p0=sleepp1=5400
http: //somestreamingstation.com/foo.mp3

that would start the sleep timer before opening the lullaby stream.

The randomized favorite might be trickier. You might need two
playlists, with the randomized playlist looking like the following
(spaces added after the colon to appease the forum software)

squeezecli: p0=playlistp1=shufflep2=2
squeezecli: p0=playlistp1=clear
squeezecli: p0=playlistp1=addp2=/path/to/playlist
squeezecli: p0=playlistp1=shufflep2=0
squeezecli: p0=playlistp1=play

to force a new reshuffling of your playlist and revert to non-shuffled
behavior right afterwards.

But there's something a little messed up in my code I haven't had time
to track down; the effect is that the squeezecli command executes but
SBS never moves to the next track. My hope was to fix that and then
make a nice web UI to simplify adding squeezecli: tracks to
playlists.

Does that sound about right, or too darn complex?

Oh, if you want to look at what I have (broken as it is), the code is in

can install it from my test repo,

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Playback comes to iPeng

2011-02-08 Thread erland

If I officially buy the in-app purchase on one of my iOS devices (for
example the iPhone4) do I get it also on all the other devices using
the same iTunes account and app for free (for example the iPod Touch)
?
Or do I have to buy it on each individual device ?

I don't want to mess with the backup/restore process and you are worth
every extra income you can get for this excellent work. It's not a
major problem if I have to buy it on each individual device, I'm just
asking in advance so I know how it works.

Re: [slim] creating smart playlist

2011-02-08 Thread erland

garym;609469 Wrote:
How about using mp3tag. first create a custom column to display the
bitrate info. For example, use this as the value in a custom column:
 %_bitrate% kb/s $left(%_vbr%,1)

then sort your files by that column. Then you can select large numbers
all at once, and assign a custom field within your tags based on the
bitrate (or use some otherwise unused tag, e.g., contentgroup).

Then you can use this tag within one of erlands playlist plugins.

No reason to tag, the bitrate should already be in the database since
it's part of the standard tags in more or less every music file, it's
even scanned by standard SBS scanner.

The procedure to do this with SQL Playlist plugin is:
1. Create a new playlist and select the Customize SQL button at the
bottom
2. Click Save and enter a suitable name and paste the following text in
the SQL Query field:

Code:

  -- PlaylistName:Random for bitrate
  -- PlaylistGroups:
  -- PlaylistParameter1:custom:Select bitrate:select case when lossless=1 then
999 else floor((bitrate+16000)/32000)*32000 end as calculatedbitrate,case
when lossless=1 then 'Lossless' else concat(floor((bitrate+16000)/32000)*32,'
kbps') end from tracks where audio=1 group by calculatedbitrate order by
calculatedbitrate desc
  select url from tracks
where
audio=1 and
(
'PlaylistParameter1'=999 and
tracks.lossless=1
)
or

(
tracks.bitrate='PlaylistParameter1'-16000 and
tracks.bitrate'PlaylistParameter1'+16000
)
order by rand()
limit 10;

This query gives you a choice of bitrates in 32kbps intervals based on
what's in your library and a separate entry for lossless music.

the beginning instead of at the same place it was at when the call came

Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] Playback comes to iPeng

2011-02-08 Thread Phil Meyer
If you haven't synced it it should not be on the phone yet.
You can just delete an App in iTunes by deleting it from the Apps
section in the left hand pane (in your library).

I assumed that would then sync the app deletion to the device (and I'd have to
buy it again?).

I saw some other people saying they were going to revert to previous version,
but I couldn't see a way to do that in iTunes (no version history).
