Certainly changing the font size to 12 makes things a lot better - the undeleted text goes back to the correct place now. There's still a little niggle in that if you delete the last line of quoted text, the deleted line is not quoted when it's replaced. I'm seeing other issues around quote levels - sometimes the quoting arrows just disappear. But I can't find a reproducible way of showing it. It feels at times as if the underlying editor is using HTML and just converting to text as it is displayed - what I mean is that sometimes in text mode it looks as if I inadvertently delete a tag (that I can't see) and it affects a whole section of text - like removing the quote arrows. It adds unbelievable amounts of bloat to very simple text. Processing it in a client introduces hundreds of potential security bugs. Because of the security issues, many clients require the reader to click through warnings and trust settings before displaying the lovely (not) company logos. And when HTML email sets its own font settings it overrides my defaults and makes the email unreasonably tiny. There must be "hundreds" (rather 99 ;-) of bug reports only from my machine, but I haven't yet seen, when and where those appear as they're handled by something called apport2.0.1-0ubuntu17.9 that automatically generates crash reports for debugging with not much information, where it reports them to. Hi, usually it would be important to know what version of Evolution you're using, but in this case, what window manager or DE are you using? Assumed the WM/DE doesn't care about GTK3 apps you could try ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini to set up a theme. $ cat ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini [Settings] gtk-theme-name=Adwaita gtk-font-name=FreeSans 12 In my experiences dark themes are broken. I never have seen a dark theme on my machine, that was usable for my needs. YMMV! Btw. I'm using openbox with a theme I made myself, not everything is Adwaita, but IMO it's worth to fall back to a theme, that easily provides something that fits to GTK2, GTK3 and Qt settings. If something is unusable, it isn't eye candy, so you should consider to drop a broken theme for serious work. Did you use HTML to set up colours? Once you've solved the colour issue, only sent plain text to the mailing list. [Evolution] Search folder has stopped updating
This applies to evolution 3.16.0 running under Ubuntu 15.04. Yesterday, I was on a business trip and, for a time, I had to run my laptop on battery power. I started having problems with my search folder "InBox -- AllAccounts" updating. This search folder picks up the InBox for one impax account and the original InBox with the three remaining pop accounts. As of last evening, the only way I can get the search folder to update is to go the original InBox (or the impax InBox) and open each one of the new messages. Refreshing the search folder does not work. The box on automatically update for changes in source folders is ticker. What has happened? Evo allows you to do this (in recent versions) but it's not ideal. The IMAP model is strongly oriented towards deletion by mark-and-expunge. If your accounts are IMAP-based then that's what you want to use. Hi, I am theming a dark theme and the message lists are in black text. They are unreadable. I've tried everything I can think of ie. ECanvas MessageList etc, but to no evail. Is there a way to change the message lists color to a light color? And if so, what would be the css? If you are using 3.17.x, then you must be prepared for problems and be willing to give fairly detailed feedback to the developers so things can be fixed before the stable version comes out. And yes, the next stable version looks as if it should be 3.18 - but it might not be. The numbering of Evo releases matches the Gnome release numbers however a while ago the Evolution development team decided to do annual releases rather than 6 monthly [1]. This means that in order to match Gnome numbering, some of the Evo versions don't exist. For instance Evo 3.14 never existed - the versions went from 3.13.90 to 3.15.91 and became 3.16.0. P. In short, Arch Linux can't be used in a way a user-friendly distro can be used. Arch Linux isn't rocket science and even could be used by beginners, but it requires to be interested in the policy of Arch Linux. Usually you don't have to build from ABS to get current stable releases from upstream, that Evo is flagged out of date is an exception, but usually you need to care about many other things. Arch is a rolling release, what do you think happens when e.g. the FHS is updated or there's a transition as there was from sysvinit to systemd?
