Re: [Geoserver-users] imageio-ext 1.1.18 (and 1.1.19) lacks content

2017-12-13 Thread Olle Markljung
Thank you for the swift response!

These folders does not include the
imageio-ext-1.1.X-jars.zip
imageio-ext-1.1.X-javadocs.zip
imageio-ext-1.1.X-netcdf.zip
imageio-ext-1.1.X-sources.zip

Not needed?
Just to clarify, can you inform about the differences between the jars in
imageio-ext-1.1.X-jars.zip and the ones in the gdal-plugin.zip?
The ones that overlap, are they acctually the same or are there differences?

Olle Markljung

2017-12-13 Thread Joe Murphy
Hello all,
I am really excited to hear this answer. I am attempting to bring portions
of a build i am working on to Android, and would like to continue to use
Geoserver ( I would love to do it in a container as well, don't think
that's fully flushed out yet).

Thank you all,

[Geoserver-users] imageio-ext 1.1.18 (and 1.1.19) lacks content

2017-12-13 Thread Olle Markljung
Hi

The page at http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/data/raster/gdal.html
kind of tells you to download ImageIO-Ext 1.1.16 artifacts.
However the GDAL plugin of GeoServer 2.12.1 seems to use 1.1.18 and master
1.1.19.

These folders are present at
http://demo.geo-solutions.it/share/github/imageio-ext/releases/1.1.X/ but
they lack content.

Would it be possible for someone with access to fill them with valid
content?

Re: [Geoserver-users] [layer group preview]Could not click on the map to view feature info

2017-12-13 Thread Paul Wittle via Geoserver-users
Hi,

That is just a view of the rendered output but I don’t think I’ll be able to
help you much without just having a look at the layers and trying to get my
head round what you are trying to do.

I have a heatmap layer and when I click on it in the layer preview I get a fid
and grid from the data. That is not really much use as it is nothing to do with
the base data really and you may want to question whether or not you actually
want the data you are going to get anyway. We use the WFS getFeatureInfo for
our information tool because that way we always return the underlying data
rather than technical rendering information. Of course you then have to concern
yourself with buffering the info click as the rendered location is unlikely to
match the real location of the features on which it is based but you can
usually get decent results if you search by polygon rather than click.

Anyway, I don’t think I can help you much more than that.
Best of luck getting your layer to work.
Paul

I am sure that all of the layers in the layer group are set as Queryable on the
Publishing tab.

Hi,

Did you check if all of the layers in the layer group are set as Queryable on
the Publishing tab?

Please note that the attributes of a heatmap may not be the what you expect as
you are looking at a view of the data in actual fact. You are likely to only
get the sum of the features at the point you clicked rather than all the
individual features which have been generalised.

While you could vectorise the data on the server, its far from clear what
you are trying to achieve here.

If you've gone from "vector tiles are efficient" to "use vector tiles for
netcdf-derived coverages", then I think that is unfortunate, and you really
need to express what you are trying to express in your system.

Actually, this started from looking into the advantages of vector tile
formats such as TopoJSON that occupies less space and renders actual data to
the client to allow dynamic styling at the client-side application and
faster query. But I wonder whether such vector tiles are supported only for
vector data(points, lines, polygons) and not for raster files.

I need to know whether raster files such as netCDF or GeoTIFF could be
rendered as TopoJSON in GeoServer. Thanks.

I'm far from familiar with your use case, but I'm not following how this is
going to work. What kind of JSON representation are you expecting from a
netcdf coverage? What are you really trying to do here? That is, what is the
purpose (functional use / business need) of the vector tiles?

Subject: [Geoserver-users] Multidimensional netCDF to TopoJSON in GeoServer

I need to send the netCDF file from the Geoserver to the client as vector
tiles such as TopoJSON or GeoJSON. Please let me know the answer for the
below questions. Thanks.

1. Could the multidimensional netCDF file be converted to TopoJSON?
2. Could the TopoJSON or GeoJSON file be uploaded using any Geoserver
store?
