Okay, listers, this is the one you've all been waiting for. In FSCast 58,
Jonathan Mosen discusses the new features of JAWS 13 with Eric Damery and
Dan Clark. The public beta is scheduled for release during the second week
of September, so it should be out shortly. Very interesting.

I had the same problem yesterday. Whenever I typed a search phrase into the
Google search edit field and hit Enter, nothing happened, and the search
field was blank as if I had not typed anything. So I clicked on Options,
then Search Settings, and discovered that Google Instant was selected. I
have no idea how this happened, but I unselected it, hit the save
preferences button, and now Google is working normally again.

Hi LMorris,

I don't know if this will work in Word2007 but, in Word2002 this is where I
went to have page numbers read, except I turned this option on.
While in Word open Jaws options with Insert / Jaws key + V. Press the
letter P, until you have Page, Section, and Multiple Column Breaks
highlighted, press the spacebar until Jaws reads,OFF. Press enter to save
your changes & close.
If there are other ways to turn the reading of pages on / off hopefully
others will let us know. Hope this helps. Take care.

I'm using outlook Express, but it'd be in a similar (view) menu or Ribbon.
Look in there. it has to do with Windows encoding. there may be an Encoding
submenu, which lists all the windows encoding types. the one I have checked
is Western European iso, and I never have the problem (although I've heard
of it in the past from people who had. that's the way towards the solution.
If not in the view menu, then look in others.
the view ribbon?)

I'd like to find a way to personalize Google with that change, so my home

not change after taking that link to turn off Google instant search.

[JAWS-Users] JAWS and Carbonite

2011-07-08 Thread John O'Rourke
Good Day list members:

I need a cloud backup service. I'd like to use Carbonite. In essence, I'd
like to set Carbonite and essentially set it and forget it. Will JAWS 12
function with Carbonite? Any opinions welcome. Thank you..

[JAWS-Users] JAWS an ITunes

2011-06-02 Thread John O'Rourke
Good Day list members:

Since the last JAWS hotfix update, Itunes has not opened properly for me.
With the pc cursor I notice a blank screen and by routing pc to JAWS or JAWS
to pc, I get the date and time. Has anyone on the list noticed problems
with Itunes? I deleted and then reinstalled Itunes to no avail. Thank you.

Hello,
I updated Yahoo Messenger Scripts.
The actual version is 1.6 and these scripts work with JAWS 12 or earlier,
Yahoo Messenger or earlier.
If IE is updated since April 2011, the keystrokes Alt + Numbers don't read
the last messages found in current instant message window.

Emoticons are read.
Alt + Control + M works to search for an emoticon.
Control + Shift + Enter work to click the last link/url found in the instant

window, if that is sent by friend, like a Youtube clip.

Download it at:
http://www.pontes.ro/en/scripts/index.php

Press H until JAWS says Yahoo Messenger Scripts.

   Best regards,
   Emanuel Boboiu

yahoomessenger using jaws 11 please help.

Hello. ok let me make my self clear. I am running IE 7, Windows xp, sp 3 and
yahoo messenger 10 with jaws 11. and the scripts don't seem to work at all.
as I have said time and time again there were scripts that were on the jaws
users page at one time that were written by rampcure and in hanced by
jetendra for yahoo messenger and those scripts worked like a dream. I think
they were for yahoo messenger 8 though but they are no longer on the sight
though. and before some one asks yes I did try downgrading to yahoo
messenger 8 and still it didn't work. when I would open up yahoo messenger
and I had the scripts it would say "yahoo messenger welcome to yahoo
messenger scripts in hanced by rampcure and jetendra and then it would say
yahoo messenger again. then when I would go through my contacts list I would
be able to see who was on line and hit f 6 to hear jaws say typing window
and message window. I can do all of this now but the difference is that with
those scripts that used to be on the jaws users page I was able to read what
people were typing to me and what I was typing back. another thing that they
would read were the messages at the top of the message window that said that
who I was talking to was using a older version of yahoo messenger and that
serten features would not be available. I am not hearing this now either. I
also when I send a message am not hearing the message that I send when I hit
enter. before it would say something like michverrier says hi if I hit enter
and landed in the message window I could arrow up and read what I sent now I
am un able to do this. so I hope that if some one out there has these serten
scripts that were on the jaws users page and can send them to me that would
be grate. they are no longer there and there is also nothing in the tips and
tricks page about setting up yahoo messenger to work with jaws either an

Hi.
Hmm, I would say JAWS acts very sluggishly initially and yes appears to lock
up. But once the store has fully loaded JAWS is happy again . This
is with the 12 public beta.

Hi list, have any of you tried to play ESPN's NFL pick'um game.
I found out that Jaws can not find the check boxes, I wrote ESPN and let
them know that if they could make their web site more accessible for the
blind, we would appreciate it very much. They said that they would work on
it.
Good news, Yahoo sports supports Jaws, I am able to play both College and
NFL football pick'um games.
I am able to find and use all the check boxes and every thing else on the
site.
Does any one know of any web sites for the play by play announcing of
football games that are free? If so please let me know.
Thanks for all the great information provided on this list.

There is nothing strange about this. I am also using JAWS 9 with XP Pro,

That's the way it's supposed to be.
