Now things have gone back to normal! I can access FPC & Lazarus svn again :)

The working svn urls are (at the time FPC & Lazarus svn were out of
reach for me):

https://fpgui.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/fpgui/trunk
svn://firmos.at/zeos/trunk
https://lazarus-ccr.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/lazarus-ccr/components/acs

so basically not on port 80.

I don't know the svn overhead, but afaik it uses compression and the
zipped lazarus sources are 11mb.
Don't forget: lazarus needs fpc and the fpc sources too.

[lazarus] lazarus svn mirror

2007-03-15 Thread Vincent Snijders

Hi,

I have set up a mirror of the lazarus svn repository at
svn.freepascal.org on SourceForge.

This is mainly interesting for people who are behind broken firewalls,
because SourceForge uses https as transportation protocol.

You can checkout Lazarus for the SourceForge svn repository by doing:
svn co https://lazarus.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/lazarus/trunk

Commits done on svn.freepascal.org are generally mirrored within 15 minutes.

It is part of the windows unit, for a couple of weeks now. If you are
using fpc 2.0.4, it is a part on the winext unit.

I assume you are using an old fpc 2.1.1.

Windows (XP SP2) because of this error in Win32WSDialogs (but of
course simply commenting out the code works fine).

[lazarus] TSemaphorGrid in lastest Lazarus (svn)

2007-01-11 Thread Graeme Geldenhuys

Hi,

When was the last time anybody tried to run the TSemaphorGrid example
included in Lazarus? The semaphorGridLPK package compiles and
installs fine, but the example can't even load.

Opening the example application gives me a property is Read-Only error
and then about another 15-20 errors I need to click through before I
can see a form (which I think doesn't look right as the grid is 3/4
off the form).

I want to start using the TStringGrid component (due to lack of custom
draw features in TListView) and read that Jesus once mentioned to AJ
Verter the TSemaphorGrid for some OpenBook application. I wanted to
review TSemaphorGrid to see what is different to TStringGrid.

Just to confirm - Custom drawing in the TStringGrid is supported on
Linux (gtk) and Windows? Anybody got some cool screenshots to show
off there master pieces? :-)
Maybe those screenshots can be added to the wiki at:

[lazarus] SVN Keyboardhandling update

2007-01-10 Thread Marc Weustink
Hi,

r10422 contains improvements (I hope) in keyboard handling.

In the past, when a key was pressed/released the generated virtual
keycode was lookued up based on the character gtk reported for the
keypress. A major problem were keyboards where the same character could
be constructed by different keys and where utf8 chars were generated.

On a keypress/release gtk2 also reports an unique keycode of the key
pressed. This keycode can be more reliable and easier mapped to a
virtual keycode. So the new code is based on this and should always
report the correct key.
For gtk1 I added some extra X dependent code to retrieve the same
keycode. This way both gtk1 and gtk2 work the same way. Since we support
gtk1 unix/x only, I don't see that as a problem.

Side effect of these changes was that I discovered a possible flaw in
the use of modifier keys. (AltGr key pressed or not). On one system
numlock was mapped to mod4 and altgr to mod5, on another numlock was
only mapped to mod5. In code we used hardcoded values for those
modifiers. I've added code maye this based on the actual values.

As a result of this it is in theory possible to add extra values for the
Shift value in the keyUp/Down events. Currently only [ssShift, ssCtrl,
ssAlt} are reported there, but IMO [ssSuper, ssHyper, ssMeta, ssAltGr]
can be possible. I'll look what changes are needed.

[lazarus] SVN Update - Translating packages

2007-01-10 Thread Mattias Gaertner

The IDE can now create automatically .po files for .rst files of
packages and projects.

The packages of the lazarus source repository already create
them and the IDE loads existing translations. The
german .de.po files are nearly complete thanks to Joerg Braun.

There seems to be a bug/problem with current fpc version. Lazarus
works fine with fpc #5114 but not with anything after that (at
least for me, linux-i386). AFAIK, it is related to changes in file
seek behaviour which causes lazarus to fail reading
environmentoptions.xml (and other files).

I didn't test it, but there is a fix for this problem in r5145.

Tested with fpc-5146. It works!

There seem to be some problems with reading xml files when you use fpc trunk.

Try using fpc 2.0.4.

[lazarus] SVN revision in About Box

2006-10-04 Thread Daniel Dugan
Recently the SVN revision# no longer displays in the About box using fpc 2.04 (official release) with lazarus 10034. Win32. (on Win2KSP4).     DD

[lazarus] Lazarus SVN #10034 dont start with FPC 2.1.1 SVN #4782

2006-10-04 Thread Fedorax
When it's compiling with latest svn FPC 2.1.1 lazarus dont start. The
splashscreen appears / disapears and nothing follow . No terminal
output, just this ( Linux fedora 5 ).

Re: [lazarus] Lazarus SVN and FPC 2.1.1

2006-10-03 Thread bouquinique

You, right, the problem come from TStringGrid component.

After force the loading of the form i'd remove the TStringGrid and
Create a new and recompile my project and all the errors where solved.

The DbGrid error was also corrected by replace old TStringGrid. May be
something was broken in the lcm file because after replace the
TStringGrid three components was destroyed in lcm file.

The declarations of them:
 Tb_SizeCol: TTrackBar;
 E_Seek: TEdit;
 Chk_Maj: TCheckBox;
Stay in source code but was removed from the form. I dont know why. I'd
need remove the 3 declarations and recreate the components on the form
and now the project work fine with FPC 2.1.1 and 2.0.4

Thank's.

Subject: [lazarus] Lazarus SVN and FPC 2.1.1

Lazarus SVN and my projects work's perfectly with official relase of fpc
2.0.4.
I can also compile SVN without problem with FPC 2.1.1 Latest SVN but
when
i load projects i've a lot off errors about StringsGrids and DbGrids
like

'property visible is read only' and others.

What's wrong ? My project or lazarus can't work with FPC 2.1.1 ?

Are you sure that is Visible property and not VisibleColCount or
VisibleRowCount?. This properties are published but they are readonly
and I guess, they should not be stored in lfm file but when using
2.0.X they are.

Why it worked in 2.0.X and not in 2.1.1? it seems that 2.0.X had a bug
(or a feature don't know) that allows Lazarus to load this kind of
properties without noise, in 2.1.1 it seems this was fixed (or
improved) and now it raise an exception if a read only property is
found in lfm stream. Luckily, it seems 2.1.1 is now clever enough to
not store published read only properties.

As the current released compiler is 2.0.4 and I don't know for what
time this will be so, I think the cleanest solution would be to set
these properties explicitely not stored, so it should work in both
2.0.X and 2.1.1, if anybody have objections, please tell me.

This is for StringGrid, Can you give more details for the DbGrid
problems?

[lazarus] SVN Update: default filenames for package dependencies

2006-08-31 Thread Mattias Gaertner

The problem:
If you download a project with several packages (.lpk), you have to
open each package once, so that the IDE knows the file. Some projects
provides a lot packages and finding and opening all those packages
is a boring task.

The solution:
Now the programmer can store default filenames in the package (or
project) itself.
In the project inspector and/or the package editor right click on a
dependency to open the popup menu. Click on 'Store dependency filename'.

I like to have two shortcuts, so I get into the right tab (or window)

I am just saying that I find it useful that way (am used to

not one of them, but it is clear that others can see it

I would find it nice if Find and Find-in-files would be
merged into one form (as in Delphi). I am aware that each
one of us probably sees this differently. However, maybe it
would be worthwhile to consider a merge of the two, but
leaving the two menu access points (and showing the merged
find form with different tabs initially active).

I know that it is not nice to come with a whish without a
patch, but... well, you know, the usual things :(
In any case, it is just an idea.

[lazarus] SVN update - Find

2006-08-29 Thread Mattias Gaertner

Lazarus Menu -> Search -> Find

New features:

- Multi line in replacement.
This means the replace text can now contain multiple lines. Hint: You
can not create a 'new line' character in the edit box, but you can
paste a multi line selection into it.

- Multi line in find text (pattern)
This means you can now search for a pattern with multiple lines.
This works with all options including forwards/backwards,
whole words, case insensitive, scope and regular expressions. The only
exception is: You can not search a multi line regular expression
backwards.

- Regular expression: whole word option

- Regular expression: case insensitive search

'Find in files' does not yet support multi lines. But the regular
expressions now also supports case insenstive and whole word options.

[lazarus] SVN Update - Help for FPC Keywords

2006-08-29 Thread Mattias Gaertner

fpc 2.0.4 help in HTML now provides an index file keywords like 'if'.

There is currently only a tgz file so there is no 'common' directory,
where to put it. I added a simple heuristic, so the IDE will find them,
if they are installed.
Download the fpc-2.0.4-doc-html.tar.gz and extract it. It contains a
directory named 'share'.

Move this to /usr/ or /usr/local/.
Then the IDE will find it automatically.

Or:
put it somewhere in your home directory: For example put
share/doc/fpdocs-2.0.4 into ~/freepascal/fpdocs-2.0.4.
Then set Lazarus Menu -> Help -> Configure Help -> General -> FPC DOC
HTML path to '/home/username/freepascal/fpdocs-2.0.4'

Are there any volunteers to create packages (rpm, deb, dmg)?

[lazarus] SVN Update: TButtonGlyph

2006-07-18 Thread Mattias Gaertner
TButtonGlyph.SetGlyph is now Delphi compatible and only copies the content,
instead of using the TBitmap itself.

For example:

ABitmap:=TBitmap.Create;
ABitmap.LoadFromFile('a.bmp');
TSpeedButton.Glyph:=ABitmap;

Now, you need to free ABitmap yourself.

Or you could write the above as:

TSpeedButton.Glyph.LoadFromFile('a.bmp');

Lazarus releases must compile with the latest fpc release. We try to
keep lazarus SVN also compilable with latest fpc release but sometimes
it gets broken by accident, like now.

Yes, I'm from SA. Not sure if it is Telkom or not (thought it

via the http protocol. Telkom runs all the adsl, but my ISP is not

I tried from two different ISP's. My home account and our work
account. I confirmed with the network admin that the ISP is
different. No luck!

I have also tried a fresh checkout to a new directory. No luck!

svn client version tried: 1.1.2 (I think), 1.2.3 and 1.3.0 (binary
release and compiled from source). No change.

OS's tried: WinXP, Win2000 and Ubuntu Linux 5.10. No change.

What is strange is that this only occurs with the FPC and Lazarus
repositories, which are the same server. Checking out files from
other repositories on other servers work fine (using the svn:// and
the http:// protocol).

You must update the sources of FPC, and recompile the RTL.

The "StrToQWord" was added to sysutils for use in Lazarus.

Lazarus support compiling with fpc 2.0.0, 2.0.2, and svn head of trunk (2.1.1) and
the fixes_2_0 (2.0.3) branch.

If you compiled lazarus with 2.0.1 for example than you get this error.

I set the AutoFill property to true, so the items will now fill up the
TRadioGroup.

AutoFill sets ChildSizing.EnlargeHorizontal to crsHomogenousSpaceResize.
This means available space is distributed to the space around the items.
