I would have no problem testing the tofes htzarfut however I have no account with the postal bank to sign up with. Are you in Haifa? If you can get to the Technion then I would like to sit with you, try to sign up with the form, and then write a long, detailed letter to Postil. Re: postil.com not working in FF or Konqueror
I see now, the submit button does not work in Firefox. I wrote to them this: אני צריך להירשם לשירות המקוון של postil אבל הטופס הצטרפות אינו עובד. אני לוחץ על כפתור "שלח" ושוב דבר לא קורה. נא לתקן את האתר ולהודיע לי כשהעיניין מתופל. בתודה מראש. However, I got this message upon submitting the form: "Error- This page can't be displayed due to a security violation or typing not allowed characters.Contact support for additional information 02-6290370" Did my message get received? Did it go to /dev/null? So I called the number and the man asked "Which internet do you have? The site does not work with Firefox." before I even told him what browser. These were his exact, confidence-inspiring words: איזה אינטרנט יש לך? Some technician! As I am calling at 18:45 he suggested that I call back in the morning to speak to a senior tech. I will. Another bit of stupidity: I put my phone number in as 054-7881700 and I got a JavaScript popup complaining about nonnumerical characters in the phone field. What an idiot programmer: phone fields should accept [0-9():space:\-\.] because those are the common deliminators used. -- Dotan Cohen http://what-is-what.com http://gibberish.co.il א-ב-ג-ד-ה-ו-ז-ח-ט-י-ך-כ-ל-ם-מ-ן-נ-ס-ע-ף-פ-ץ-צ-ק-ר-ש-ת ä-ö-ü-ß-Ä-Ö-Ü

No its not related, the error I got was not related to some specific page, but a generic XML error (caused by their server returning malformed data). Quoting Dotan Cohen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: 2008/8/14 Noam Rathaus <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: Hi, The Israeli Post web site used to work with FF and Konqueror, but now it doesn't anyone knows how you can reach them and complain? No fire broke out when I went to the postil.com website and began navigating. It works fine for me in Firefox 3 on Kubuntu 8.04. From what I remember, the problematic features are: 1. Trying to find out how much it costs to send a letter abroad using their price calculator (it never gets to the "abroad" part). 2. Problems in the branch locator (finding out opening hours of branches) 3. Feedback form. And I did manage to find a browser where the feedback form works (I got the automated reply) but they never actually got around to fixing the problems I mentioned (which are not just compatibility issues. They have content issues as well). Or even more so - the narrow-mindedness of the person you talk to would easily lead him to understand that he might lose his job if the web site starts working properly. (I'm not kidding - back when there was just a plan to introduce a computerized system to the HUJI CS library (I'm talking about late-80's/early 90's) the librarians put up a strike for fear of losing their jobs). Shachar is right they might not have any system to correlate so we must state it clearly that we could have done it with the website but it does not function. What I'm saying is that even if we do it explicitly, they may STILL not have any way of correlating. The flow of information inside the company is greatly dependent on the systems in place. When you call them for support regarding something you could have done with the web site IF it would have been built with standards in mind, please state it to the service person that you wanted to do it with the website but could not and thus calling him/her. Hi, The Israeli Post web site used to work with FF and Konqueror, but now it doesn't anyone knows how you can reach them and complain? Their מוקד is clueless Of course under IE it works.
