mc 4.8.14 rpm packages

2015-06-10 Thread Laurent Wandrebeck

Hi there,

Long time user of mc (since Slackware 3.5, oct 98 or so), and I just
stumbled upon lastest « news ».

Let’s be brief.
I used my Opensuse Build Service (obs) account to add latest stable mc rpm.

RPMS are available for:
CentOS 7 x86_64
Fedora 20 i586, x86_64, armv7l
Fedora 21 i586, x86_64
Scientific Linux 6 i586, x86_64
Scientific Linux 7 x86_64

For some strange reason, CentOS 6 did not build, complaining about lack
of libssh2-devel = 1.2.5 though package does exist and is in base repo.
CentOS 6 should be able to use SL one without problem.

I’ll try to fix spec file so it builds nicely on C6 (and maybe C5) too.
F22 will be added once it is available on obs.
I may try to add Suse Linux Enterprise support, but I’m quite unfamiliar
with this one.

Feel free to check spec file (comes from Fedora 21), to check sha1sum of
source tarball I used (comes from
http://ftp.midnight-commander.org/mc-4.8.14.tar.xz). So you are sure I’m
not delivering crap to you.

I’ll be glad to maintain theses packages for a while.

Keep up the good work,

Bonsoir Laurent,

Do you have a Trac account? If yes, then I can grant you wiki editing
privileges, so that you can add it to this page and keep it up to date
on your own, like our Debian packager:

http://www.midnight-commander.org/wiki/Binaries

I honestly meant to do this myself, but, of course, I didn't manage

Hi Yuri !

Yes, I have one, « low ». I’ll try to keep it up to date for

Hi,

We are glad to finally announce the release of mc-4.8.15!

This new version brings several critical bugfixes to the search / find

Please note, that the minimum required version of glib is now 2.26.0!

I would like to thank everybody who contributed to this release (and,

In other news, we are very happy to welcome a long standing
contributor

Egmont Koblinger as a new committer.

We are very much in need for dedicated maintainers to carefully review
and integrate user contributions, process bug reports and generally
improve on our aging code base, and accepting a new committer is an
important step towards improving current situation.

Enjoy!

mc-4.8.16-8.1.x86_64.rpm (or mc-4.8.16-8.1.i686.rpm )

Hi Yuri,

It’s there historically from the package used in Fedora which is the
base of the one I use.
BuildDeps are:
BuildRequires:  glib2-devel >= 2.26.0 e2fsprogs-devel slang-devel
gpm-devel groff
BuildRequires:  aspell-devel libssh2-devel >= 1.2.5

I can get rid of --without-x if you want.
I just checked Fedora 24 package, it still uses --without-x and --
enable-vfs-mcfs

Best,
Laurent.

Hi Yuri, all.

First, thanks to all of you for that release.

I’ve updated « my » packages on OpenSuSe Build Service to 4.8.18
for the following distros:

CentOS and Scientific Linux 6 i586 and x86_64.
CentOS and Scientific Linux 7 x86_64.
Fedora 23, 24, i586 and x86_64.
Fedora 20, 21 and 22 packages will be build anymore as these versions
are EOL’ed.
I will update MC wiki about it.

I’ve used official tar.xz package, and mc was built with the
following options:
--with-screen=slang \
--enable-charset \
--without-x \
--with-gpm-mouse \
--disable-rpath \
--enable-vfs-smb \
--enable-vfs-sftp \
--enable-aspell

Hi Yuri, all.

First, thanks to all of you for that release.

I’ve updated « my » packages on OpenSuSe Build Service (OBS) to 4.8.22
for the following distros:

CentOS and Scientific Linux 6 i586 and x86_64.
CentOS and Scientific Linux 7 x86_64.
Fedora 28, 29 x86_64. 27 has been EOL’ed recently so build has been
disabled.
F29 has too aarch64, armv7l, i586, ppc64le. Please note that these are
completely untested (OBS added these platforms and it says « succeeded
», so… )

I’ve used official tar.xz package, and mc was built with the
following options:
--with-screen=slang \
--enable-charset \
--with-x \
--with-gpm-mouse \
--disable-rpath \
--enable-vfs-smb \
--enable-vfs-sftp \
--enable-aspell
