Randy, are you using a second browser? If so, you'll need the flash plug in for each. It's also important to ensure that you are installing all flash updates, but I figure you know that anyway. USB soundcard help please.
hello all, am trying to find a studio quality USB soundcard, with all of the following, or if not, as much of it as possible please. 24bit, 192KHZ capability, AES-EBU digital in and out, optical digital in and out, coaxial digital in and out, insert jacks. I really only need to analog ins and outs, preferably on XLR type sockets, at least for the inputs. actual hardware controls on the device for levels and input selection, would also be preferable. Re: strange bluetooth audio issue need help please?
It doesn't unpair with the phone unless you tell the phone to forget the device or you turn bluetooth off on the phone. The device can be paired with more than one bluetooth source, just not engaged with more than one at a time. So turn off bluetooth on the phone and pair it with the pc whose bluetooth is on. That should work. Mary

right I understand. Lets say I have just finished listening to music on my iPhone. I put the speaker in pairing mode once again, so it unpairs from the phone. When I put the jambox in pairing mode once again, It won't pair with my windows 7 64 bit laptop. I have to turn off the blutooth on the iPhone. Only then will the laptop pair with the speaker Can some one please help? I think you are supposed to set IE to download files from rss but when I tried it a long time ago it didn't download as expected. If you do save the rss then I guess you could go and download each one individually by entering on the link. Help please with Roxio Easy VHS to DVD converter
Hi Folks. This request is on behalf of my sister who is also blind but knows nothing about computers and her husband, although sighted is totally tech illiterate. They have some VHS videos they wanted burned to DVD, and some LPs and audio cassettes which this programme can do also. To cut a long story short they bought the Roxio easy VHS to DVD converter. It seems though they don't find it easy. They have asked me if I would install the programme and do it for them but as I'm totally blind, I don't know if I would be able to do it, even with the help of my brother-in-law. I've not used any Roxio products and I have no idea how accessible this programme will be. I use JAWS 13 on a win7 system. Have any of you ever used the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD converter and how did you find it to use if you did and would a blind user be able to use it? Your help and any tips would be appreciated, especially by my sister. Walter. To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Re: winamp help please
this next checkbox will determine wether or not Winamp actually remembers what file you convert to a lot, so if you convert to mp3 a lot, leave this checkbox checked so you can just perform the final few steps. Now, tab once again and you'll land on a button that determines what file you can actually convert your file to. for mine in particular, this button says, MPEG layer 3 192KBPS, 44.1 K Hertz, stereo that's usually what i convert to, but if you want something different, you can press this button and you can change the file type, bitrate and sampling rate of your file. Note that if you don't have the radium codec installed, you won't be able to convert to anything higher than 56k, 22.50 k hertz stereo. I believe the lame encoder will fix this too, and the lame encoder should be very easy to find if you do a little hunting around. 15. Ok, now that you've determined everything about your file, it's time to actually do the conversion! So tab past that next checkbox, i have no idea what the thread priority hack refers to, so just press ok and you'll be in the preferences again. so now, close the preferences in the usual way. 16. Ok, now to convert your file, press the letter x which will, essentially play your file, but you won't hear any sound. Trust me, you won't. that's just how this plugin works because it moves very quickly. If you want to know the status of your conversion, press the hotkey which reads your title bar, insert t for JAWS and control shift t for Window-eyes, or whatever one you use. You will know your file is converted when you hear the name of your file, followed by Winamp stopped. Note that while the file conversion happens, you may notice that software speech is slower to respond, and sometimes it just doesn't happen at all, but like I say the conversions happen very quickly. 17. If you followed all the steps above, congratulations, you just converted your first file with Winamp. Believe me, subsequent conversions won't be such a long process, especially if you have the checkbox to remember your file type preferences. But before you go listen to your newly created file, you have to switch your output plugin back to the one you ordinarily use. If you attempt to listen to another file, you'll just be creating more files and you'll have a lot of stuff on your hard drive you don't want. So, open the preferences again, tab over to the list of plugins and then choose the plugin you used before, i would bet it's either the Nullsoft waveout plugin or the direct sound one. But the idea here is to change it back to whatever plugin you were using before. so once you do that, tab to the close button and you can now go back to rockin with Winamp! I hope this wasn't too long but i did want to write this process out. This is especially cool because when you want to convert a file again, all you'll need to do is switch to the discwriter plugin, play your file and Winamp will convert it. then all you have to do is switch back to your regular plugin and life's good. You don't name it. Instead you save it with a new name with ctrl-s after adding files and folders with l and shift-l respectively. Exactly it won't say anything. If you hit insert tab it will read a song if it is there. If it is blank it will just say playlist or something to that effect. Also to Walter blindtunes is just for itunes. You don't really need scripts for winamp. -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Barry Chapman Sent: Friday, December 16, 2011 3:49 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: Ehh. more winamp help please Hi Walter, If you have tracks in your playlist, you can arrow up and down the list. Re: Ehh. more winamp help please
Looks like you've had plenty of help here already, but I'd also like to point out that all of these are native winamp keystrokes and you can find all key commands mentioned in winamp documentation. Also, pressing insert-h within each of the various winamp windows (IE main window, playlist editor, equaliser) should get you a list of keyboard commands available within that window. Also remember that you won't be naming your playlist until you save it. - Original Message - From: "Walter" To: "'PC Audio Discussion List'" Sent: Thursday, December 15, 2011 12:52 PM Subject: Ehh. more winamp help please Hello to all. Hi Walter. To add tracks to your playlist, do the following. Press ALT+E to open the playlist window. If this closes it because it was opened, press ALT+E again. Press CTRL+TAB until you get to the playlist window. If you want, press CTRL+N to make a new playlist. To add individual tracks to the list press L to open the file list. Then add files to the list just like you would to open them in other programs. If you want to be faster and add folders to the playlist, press SHIFT+L You can choose to add subfolders below the folder you're adding. Hope this helps. GO CATS! Hi. Yeh, I would have thought so but I only got to the configuration options once but have not been able to replicate it. When I get the opportunity, I'll uninstall and start again but my experience so far with Winamp tells me the programme is a waiste of time. Actually all I really want to do with the programme is have a huge playlist containing thousands of tracks and play them continually in a random fashion. I would use VLC for .AVI movies. Re: Winamp, more help, please!
Hi Walter, The files go into C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins on Windows XP. I'm not sure about Windows 7. If you download the plugin as an executable file, I think it will have the installer built in. If it is a zip file, you just need to unpack the files and copy them to the plugins folder. VLC help Please?
Hi, Hopefully someone may be able to help with my inconsistent results in using VLC to watch DVDS. I have tried the internet for help, but every time I clicked on a page that I thought would help, it responded that, that page was no longer available! Very frustrating. I am using Jaws 11 on a Windows XP computer. Sometimes the following steps work, but never never more than once a day. 1. I put the DVD in and shut the door. When VLC comes up as a choice, I hit Enter. Pres ALT followed by the right arrow to the Play menu and press Enter. Arrow down to Title and hit Enter. Arrow down to the title of choice and hit Enter. Press the Spacebar to start. Now, as I said above, this works occasionally on the first try, but never on a second try the same day, let alone just after seeing the first title and wanting to see the second title. If I do these same steps again after the first title, it has never worked! Can someone tell me how I can get consistent working results? My deepest thanks! Spin It Again Help Please?
I would like to use Spin It Again V2.5B to clean up some recordings that I have made in the past. I have read the help files and they are quiet on how to pick and load a preexisting file to be worked upon and cleaned up. If I want to take something that I had previously input into iTunes, but now want to take it and refurbish it with Spin It Again, How do I do that? I also have some CDS that were made of my records, but before I had Spin It Again, How can I make these tracks load into Spin It Again to be cleaned up? Many thanks for any help! I have looked into this, listened to it from a Vhorizon dealer who had downloaded it and it seems to work great. I do not knowh how completely it does the menues but it does speak well, gets you around and talks clear and nice. Have your dealer downlod it for you. The vhorizon dealer was going to download it for me, it costs $20 bucks and seems to do the job. Read about it on the vlingo site. I might go that way until something better comes along. If you know the direct stream URL, you can use Screamer Radio. - Original Message - From: "dean martineau" To: "'PC Audio Discussion List'" Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2009 1:59 AM Subject: RE: I need some help please! You can download a demo of Replay a/v to try it out, And there are audio tutorials for JAWS users at http://www.applian.com/support-blind.php As for Total Recorder, subscribers to the $9 Sound Computing package have access to several audio tutorials that I created. To modify what I wrote above, if you use Vista, you definitely want to use Replay A/V, and it doesn't work any better with Xp than it does with Vista. Total Recorder is easier to use with Xp. finding recording software, was Re: I need some help please!
Hi. I've changed the subject line to better reflect the question. You absolutely can't go wrong with Replay A/V from Applian. the software is very speech friendly and the company is very aware of the fact that a lot of the users of the software are blind. It costs a bit but is very well worth your investment. http://www.replayav.com is where to grab it. You can try it out as a demo that'll record something for about 5 minutes. If you like it, you can buy it online and you'll be able to record your show and save it in mp3 or whatever format you choose. Awesome program! RE: I need some help please!
There is doubtless another way, but here is what I would do: 1. Add the two stations. From the shows menu, chose add station, Then enter the call letters into the dialog. Both stations are in the Media Guide, so it will be easy to add them. Hit the Add Station link. 2. For each station, go into Properties using the application key, and copy the Url for the station. 3. From theShows menu, choose Add show manually. Put in the name, which at least in one case I believe to be Lunch With Folks. Paste in the Url you copied. Make sure you're set to capture a stream. Scheduling is tricky but it can be done.
