Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Selecting text (for copying) on the Artist Bio/Album Review/Lyrics pages is currently not possible. Happens for me on both the mobile (Android) and desktop versions. The menu for selecting the font size (standard/medium/large) seems to prohibiting it. AFAIR it used to work for the mobile version. Not sure about earlier desktop versions, but there it's not possible to do a selection using left mouse click and drag operation (the font menu is displayed on right click). reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

You don't need to tell whether "a, b, c" is 3 artists or not. To have multiple artists one would use "a;b;c" and LMS would treat this as three artists if the semicolon is defined as the separator in 'Settings/My Music/Separator for Multiple Items in Tags', which it is by default. reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

In the latter case you will probably not see the output of the echo command because the batch file exits immediately after. It seems there is an issue in Material displaying the track comment when the comment starts with an @ character. When I click on 'More' for a track and then on the 'Comment' item, the display does not change when the comment string starts with an @ character while for other tracks the comment is shown on a new page. I think that the Spotify search menu items 'On Spotify: ' and 'On Spotify: ' were shown in the past after clicking the 'More' menu for albums. Now this is only shown when clicking the 'More' menu for a track. Is this due to a change in Spotty 4? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin
Sometimes I look at the lyrics of a song while listening and most of the time MAI does a good job providing them. I recently purchased the new album Gigaton by Pearl Jam and noticed that 2 out of 3 songs I tried to get lyrics for showed wrong lyrics: - the lyrics for the song 'Alright' showed those for a song called 'The Kids Are Alright' - the lyrics for the song 'Comes Then Goes' showed those for a song called 'Go'. I wonder if MAI includes the album title in the query for the lyrics and if this is even supported by the lyrics server(s), because in the folder where MAI stores the lyrics there is no album info. reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99537 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin
When I browse my local library for *album artists* I'd like to see covers of their albums instead of artist photos. This is because the covers of the albums I own are - for me - more connected to the artists than arbitrary artist photos. To achieve this I used a batch file to copy the first cover.jpg of each artist as artist.jpg into the artist folder (the library structure is artist/album/tracks). In a later step I want to combine 2 or 4 album covers into a single artist.jpg similar to what OrangeSqueeze is doing. I've configured the MAI plugin to show artist photos but to not pre-cache them. This works mostly fine, but for a few artists wrong pictures are shown. For example, the artist pictures for Jeff Beck or Gary Clark Jr. don't show one of their own album covers but the one of Eric Clapton's album "Clapton". Both artists are also track artists on Clapton's album "Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013" and it seems that MAI ignores the contributor role when it tries to find the artist folder. Or do I configure or interpret it wrongly? My LMS is 7.9.3 on Windows 10 and MAI is 1.6.13. The data in library.db looks like this: Code: select id,name from contributors WHERE id in (252,274,287) id|name 252 Eric Clapton 274 Gary Clark Jr. 287 Jeff Beck select * from contributor_album WHERE contributor = 274 --Gary Clark Jr. role|contributor|album|(my notes) 6 274 513 --album=Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013, disc 1 (contributor=252) 6 274 514 --album=Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013, disc 2 (contributor=252) 1 274 633 --album=Live / North America 2016 (contributor=274) 1 274 634 --album=This Land (contributor=274) select * from contributor_album WHERE contributor = 287 --Jeff Beck role|contributor|album|(my notes) 6 287 514 --album=Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013, disc 2 (contributor=252) 1 287 806 --album=Live at the Hollywood Bowl, disc 1 (contributor=287) 1 287 807 --album=Live at the Hollywood Bowl, disc 2 (contributor=287) reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=99537 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

LMS 7.9.2 and Material 1.3.0 on Android 10 using Chrome. As I mentioned already, on the mobile where I've added it long ago it still works fine, but on a different mobile with Android 10, where it wasn't added before, it's not working properly. And if I add it a second time on my first phone, it's also not working and using the wrong icon. BTW, I've looked for some info about this issue a few days ago already and found some google dev doc that says a prerequisite is that it's not already installed (https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/app-install-banners). So this might explain why a second shortcut is not working. reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I have MAI enabled and like it for the occasional deeper look. But I'd like to see album covers immediately in the artist list and I'd consider this quite logical, because after selecting an artist in the list you will see his/her albums. So showing album cover beside the artist name is kind of a peek or preview, and, at least imo, would also optically enhance this list. Of course, if Material cannot retrieve the albums at the time the artist list is built, then I'm out of luck. reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
I'd appreciate the following modifications for the album artist list: - jump list vs scroll bar the jump lists are much better than the previous groupings, but I'd prefer them on the right side where you usually find the scrollbar. And actually I'm not so sure whether to prefer the jump list or a real (maybe narrow) scroll bar, so I'd like to have an option to choose between the two. This is, because after using the jump list to preselect the range in the list, you maybe still have to scroll several pages to find the item you are looking for. So this involves two different gestures. - album cover art please, please add cover art to the artist list. Could be similar in size as for the playlist and could be made like Orange Squeeze is doing it: If an artist has less than 4 albums, one of them is chosen and its cover is displayed (e.g. the most recent album). If an artist has 4 or more albums, then 4 of them are chosen (e.g. the first 2 and the last 2) and combined (scaled down) into a single display. Often enough I don't exactly remember the artist name but I do remember the cover (well, getting older...). And this is even more true for artists where I have only one or two albums. So displaying cover art in the artist list would greatly improve the list. Browsing through all albums takes obviously much longer than browsing through the artist list. Thanks again for your great work on this skin. reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

But if you really want it you can built it on your own: 1) In general, you can enter any program plus arguments in explorer's address bar and explorer will start it with the current path as the working directory. If you don't want to prefix the program name with the full path it must be located in a path mentioned in the PATH environment variable. 2) Pick a way to run an elevated command prompt according to answers from 'here' (https://stackoverflow.com/q/19098101). For example, if you enter Code: powershell.exe -Command "Start-Process cmd \"/k cd /d %cd%\" -Verb RunAs" in the explorer's address bar, it'll open a cmd prompt as admin in the current folder. 3) Now combine 1+2 and create a batch file for the command and put it in a path of the PATH variable or add it's path to the PATH variable. reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110444 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Just discovered a small issue with the playlist view. Happens in both desktop and mobile, originally using one of the previous versions, but confirmed with v0.3.7. On mobile, I wanted to move one of the first tracks in the list to the end. The current (highlighted) track was the last in the list and the list was more than a page long. I was holding the track from the top, moved it down and dropped it AFTER the last one. This had no visible effect (I was not aware that I had to drop it ON the last track). Then I tried to scroll manually to the top again to retry the moving, but scrolling the list was not possible anymore. I tried the same on desktop, this time in the opposite direction. I was moving the last item which was one or two positions after the current highlighted track and dropping it before the first track (on the bar with # of tracks and total playing time). Again the list was more than a page long. And again the effect was that scrolling the list was no longer possible. reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I accept if it's not a prio for you, but for me it feels strange that there is a notification for a track playing although nothing is actually playing. Even more as the notification is also displayed on the lock screen. May I ask for other features I'm missing a bit? - in the playlist screen the number of tracks are shown on top, it would be nice to show the current's track position in front of that. - in the now playing screen I'd like to see the album's track number together with the track title - in the now playing screen it would be nice if one could zoom into the cover display. I just recently found out that Orange Squeeze is allowing this and I like it. I'm using Material on an Android phone with Chrome's "Add to Home Screen" feature. Working great. There's a small issue with the notification area where the currently playing track is shown: the notification is still shown after the LMS player has stopped. The notification is discarded only when the task has been ended. You could export the file urls of the tracks table (SELECT tracks.url FROM tracks ORDER BY tracks.url) of the two library.db files and compare them using BeyondCompare. And for the export you can either use a tool like SQLite Manager (a Firefox AddOn, after installation it can be found in a Firefox menu) or the command line tools downloaded from sqlite.org. reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105402 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Vortexbox v EAC or dbPoweramp
Several years ago I was using Vortexbox in a virtual machine to rip my CD collection, because it's really easy to use for such a bulk rip job - and I'm still using it for ripping because I'm too lazy to use a different tool. If the CD is recognized then tagging is usually fine. Of course you should check the config file to specify the naming schema for your files or whether to embed cover art or not, etc. I use mp3tag afterwards mainly to add tags for sorting or comments and sometimes to change genre. For cover art it's different for me. I usually don't use the automatically retrieved cover, but prefer to manually select from a list where I can check quality, pixel resolution and file size. I use Album Art Downloader for that task. reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102854 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] System doesn't wake up via SvrPowerControl
Just checked the settings of my Realtek PCI NIC card in my Win7 PC and they're the same as yours - and WOL works fine for me from the SBs. Check if the BIOS of your PC has a WOL setting and that it's enabled - the BIOS can be accessed by pressing the proper keyboard key right after the PC is booting. The key might be Del or F2 or something else depending on your system (maybe shown for a short moment at the beginning of the boot process). If you have another computer in your network try sending a WOL message to your LMS PC. For Windows there are tools like WolCmd.exe that you can use to send a WOL message to a certain MAC address. reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100423 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
