Re: [RE-wrenches] Flickering lights on off grid AC coupled radian system

2022-02-04 Thread jay
I’ve never had LED flicker on the inverter but when battery charging for sure.

The radian has a setting for that.

Re: [RE-wrenches] Outback Radian transfer time

2022-02-04 Thread jay
HI Eric,

Check that the transfer delay is as short as it can go, about 6 cycles

You might raise the lower voltage limit from 108

Check to make sure all the voltage readings on each inverter are as close as
possible. A real weakness of the OB platform is that you have to calibrate
each item:

And depending on how you have the power save mode configured, if might be that
if you can get the generator to drop out with just 1 inverter active that might
eliminate the transfer delay issues.

Let us know what you find.

For those of you using Optics, the Event History page has changed. There
is a filter drop-down that you need to use to see things like AGS
activation. I did not notice this at first and it caused me some brief
confusion and wasted time. Hopefully this heads-up will save you from the
same fate.

Re: [RE-wrenches] Outback Radian transfer time

2022-02-04 Thread Howie Michaelson
Not sure about the radians (I've rarely used them) but with the VFX series,
that symptom can sometimes be avoided by programming a cool down period so
that the inverters drop the generator while it is still running at full
speed. Alternatively, by narrowing the generator voltage window at the
bottom end, the inverters will potentially drop the generator connection
before the voltage output gets too low as the generator shuts down.
Hope this helps,
Howie

[RE-wrenches] Outback Radian transfer time

2022-02-04 Thread Eric Smiley
I have an off grid system with three GS8048A inverters.
Every time it switches from generator charging to inverting - at the end of
absorption - the lights flicker and a propane boiler in the house goes into
fault.
I'm using Advanced AGS on the Mate3S.

The loads don't exceed about 6 kW right now.

Does anyone know if there's a way to reduce the transfer time? The
transition to charging is smooth. I don't understand why it's so clunky
transitioning back to inverting.
