[Bug 202285] [NEW] system monitor
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor This is a feature request: The system monitor currently does not show all processes and so is not helpful when trying to found out which processes are taking the most computing power. In the attachment is shown that both my cpu's (I have a dual CPU) are busy with some lp process which is buggy (a different issue unrelated to this). The lefmost blue graphical box shows the CPU's are completely busy and running top in a terminal shows clearly that user lp is taking up my CPU's. However the gnome-monitor itself (sorted on CPU percentage, highest first) only shows two other processes taking only 2%. It seems the list only contains processes for the current user stephan. [Bug 202288] [NEW] Loses sound when seeking or when switching language
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem I've only noticed this yet in .mkv movies (which Nautilus reports as 'Matroska' something or other I think). When starting Totem (the gstreamer variant that is) with the video, it will play it okay, but with some default language selected. When I change the language, sound stops, even though the video keeps playing. The same thing happens when seeking in the movie, whether it is using the keyboard or the scroll wheel or dragging the position slider (BTW, isn't there supposed to be a Seek To: hh:mm:ss dialog available somewhere? I can't find it). Since Totem often (but strangely, not always) picks the worng language for audio and I like to skip back or forth now and then, this makes it rather useless in playing .mkv movies. totem: 2.22.0-0ubuntu1 gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg: 0.10.3-6 gstreamer0.8-ffmpeg: 0.8.7-10ubuntu1 (I'm not sure this package is still needed, but the v0.10 packages never actually _replaced_ the v0.8 ones in Apt) Do you need more version numbers? Finally got the 0.46 version through the package repository (it always takes a few days to get there it seems). [Bug 202297] [NEW] Sticky notes applet does not respond to right click in Hardy
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-applets Sticky notes applet used to respond to right click menu, so one could easily hide the notes, show how many there are as well as manipulate the panel. Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. [Bug 131914] Re: Xine does not like it so much when you have no audio devices, crashes.
Your patch doesn't apply anymore to current xine 1.1.11. I tried to apply it, but it seems the problem got fixed in a different way. Could you please try the current hardy package? if that doesn't work as well, could you please try compiling 1.1.11 yourself? Re: [Bug 131885] Re: Backlight no longer under my control on battery
On Fri, 2008-03-14 at 16:00 +, Keenan Pepper wrote: Ted Gould, I tried out your package, and when I move the brightness slider in gnome-power-preferences, nothing happens. Yes. The intention here is to respond to events instead of having absolute values like the previous design. So that unplugging is an event that is responded to, and so is plugging in or going idle. I think that removing the slider from the preference panel is the next step. And then the on AC value just becomes the saved value to use at init. Part of the problem is that it's difficult to trust the values that are in GConf because many hardware setups change them without bothering to tell GPM. So it's important to grab the value from the hardware before looking to change it.
