Yes. The intention here is to respond to events instead of having absolute values like the previous design. So that unplugging is an event that is responded to, and so is plugging in or going idle. I think that removing the slider from the preference panel is the next step. And then the on AC value just becomes the saved value to use at init. Part of the problem is that it's difficult to trust the values that are in GConf because many hardware setups change them without bothering to tell GPM. So it's important to grab the value from the hardware before looking to change it.
