[Bug 452149] Re: Humanity delete icon use the wrong concept
I agree with the concerns raised in this bug report , also another valid comment from a duplicate: that the present icon resembles the 'NO' sign. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/humanity-icon-theme/+bug/454013/comments/3 Franck , makes a very good point that the delete icon and using trash can for delete , should signify a action which can be restored/reverted. This new icon brings to light the wrong use of the icons in the apps , The apps should use the list-remove/gtk-remove/remove icon for such irreversible actions. Rather than the delete icon. Delete icon should be used for actions similar to the "move to trash". The present delete icon warns of an irreversible action "No" / "beware" as is commonly used in icon themes > http://images.google.co.in/images?hl=en&source=hp&q=delete%20icon&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi But , we will not be making any more changes to the humanity-icon- theme(Ubuntu) unless the suggestions are from the design team. IMO , it would be better to leave it as-is for Karmic and weed out the wrong icon usage by the apps. And consider any further icon change for Lucid. -- Humanity delete icon use the wrong concept https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/452149 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 454278] Re: audacity crashes on close, since audio callback is called after stream has closed
There are two types of crashes. The first one, due to monitoring, is not a crash in the apport sense. Audacity reports a crash when started the next time. The second one is rare and hard to reproduce. It has happened only twice with me. It is a crash in the apport sense, the one I initially reported. It happens (only sometimes) when I open an mp3 file with Audacity, it automatically imports the mp3 file, then I click the "close" button, it asks whether I want to save, and I click on "no". -- audacity crashes on close, since audio callback is called after stream has closed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/454278 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 456057] [NEW] Brightness jitter, look like the brightness key event are constantly calling each other brightness-up, brightness-down ...
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager When gnome-power-manager isn't running the brightness level is stable. I just can't change it using the keyboard shortcut. I can change the brightness level using this command. sudo echo 8 > /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness I can also see the key event using xev when gnome-power-manager isn't running. when gnome-power-manager is running, the jitter will only start if I try to change the brightness level. This jitter can go on for hours, or sometime just minutes. (without killing gnome-power-manager) This happened on my MSI U120 laptop, my HPMini 110 doesn't require gnome-power-manager to change the brightness (must be hardwired in the system somehow) so I have no problem with that laptop. [Bug 456046] [NEW] left & right arrow key, delete, page up & down key stop working
Public bug reported: After the update from 8.10 to 9.04 everything was running fine, no problems apart from an annoying but not critical issue with terminal (could not fork pty). However, when the last kernel upgrade was done, everything became slow (long boot time and hanging). Also, the arrows and delete stopped working, with no good reason. As 9.10 is coming I decided to do a clean re-install from the last down-loadable live CD (October 15) and installed from scratch. So far so good, all keys working and no visible issues except that closing the lid did not activate suspend. Over the weekend though, I used suspend from the button on the panel a few times and after that, the mentioned buttons stopped working. It must be kernel related, as it only started after the last upgrade. Hardware = Compaq 6720s, US - RU keyboard. in addition to the standard package Seamonkey (WYSIWYG), skype 2.0, thunderbird and OOO3.1.1 are installed.
