Ben SK, as per https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=engProductFamily=Desktop+BoardsProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+6+Series+Chipset+BoardsProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Desktop+Board+DH67BL an update is available for your BIOS (0160). [Bug 1122590] Re: Wirless stops working after variable amount of time
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.8 kernel[0] (Not a kernel in the daily directory) and install both the linux-image and linux-image-extra .deb packages. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as Confirmed. Thanks in advance. [Bug 1122590] Re: Wirless stops working after variable amount of time
@Ben, please note that marking a bug security does not make it private. I tried to make the bug private for you, but Launchpad reported: You are about to mark this bug as Private. The bug will become invisible because there is no-one with permissions to see Private bugs. If you want to make the bug invisible, feel free, but be aware that it might prevent others from working on it. security should be used for publicly known flaws that allow crossing privilege boundaries. private security is for flaws not-yet-publicly- known that allow crossing privilege boundaries. [Bug 1122590] Re: Wirless stops working after variable amount of time
@Seth - Got it. I removed the security tag and made public. Sorry for the confusion. @Joseph - I can't at this time, as this is a public facing machine. However, I did find a temporary solution (*knock on wood*) as the system has been running fine for 22+hours. I fixed by: $ sudo echo “options mac80211 max_probe_tries=20″ /etc/modprobe.d/mac80211.conf Not sure if this a legit fix, but seems to work for now. I've seen a good number of posts on Stackoverflow with people complaining about the same issue. ** Information type changed from Public Security to Public -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1122590 Title: Wirless stops working after variable amount of time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1122590/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
