[VFB] Fishing Diet

Folks: You've heard of the Atkins diet, the South beach diet etc. I'm going on 
a fishing diet this year.. I looked it up and fishing burns 228 calories per 
hour (unless you're constantly hauling in the big uns like em LOLOL). That 
means that if I fish 16 hours per day and sleep 8 hours per day, then I'll burn 
3648 calories. now, normally, you must burn 3500 more calories than you take in 
to lose each pound. So, I looked it up and my beloved sweetened iced  is only 
30 calories per cup. So, at 3648 burned, and if I just drink about 4 cups of 
tea per day, that would be 3528 more calories burned than I took in. That means 
I'd lose just OVER  a POUND a day. Anybody wanna join me on this diet??? Chuck

[VFB] Semperfli

Hi Larry:

No, don't go back under your rock. I'm glad that you jumped in. No apologies
expected or implied.

You see, I am on the mailing list for Game Angling Supplies having purchased
a few items from them from time to time and I knew that they were located in
Morpeth (Not that far from Alnwick where the Hardy Brothers started their
fishing tackle business and are most famous for their high quality reels. 

Semperfli has a huge number of dubbing colour shades, for example you can
buy a selection of blacks, but it is the browns and olives that attract my
attention. I also like their straggle string.

I thought that Semperfli was a US company but it turns out that I was worong
and that they are from the UK.

from? My guess is the USA.

Jim: Glad to hear you are feeling better. I know what ya mean. I had FIVE 
hiatal hernia surgeries and the WORSE part of the pain was the gas pains. I 
asked my doc why did that hurt so bad and he said "cause we had your liver 
flopped out over here, and your pancreas flopped out over here, and your 
stomach out over here, and your intestines laying just all over and when we 
shove all the intestines back in, then staple you up, it traps gas in there and 
only walking the hallway to work the gas out is all we can do for you. That was 
the worse pain I have EVER been in. And I has thee ol Nasogastric tube as well, 
and when they pulled that thing about after a cpl days, like you said, it hurt 
like hell too. This may be gross to some, but the dried snot "glues" that tube 
to your esophagus, your nose, the back of your throat etc, and they have to 
"break it loose". Then, it seemed like that nurse pulled at least 50  FEET of 
hose outta my nose ROFL... So, I feel your pain man, and it's no fun, Chuck

  Thanks for the concern. I was released Saturdy afternoon. Had minor 
complications with a twisted intedtine or or something.
  I did not feel the opeation although I saw them cut my jugular-then nothing 
until I woke up in the recoverry room. After their pain meds wore off; The Dc 
said I would feel some minor discomfort - HE LIED!. I had so much pain from 
Gas, I had to get 6 doses of morephine BEFORE the dr arrived. He has me taken

to put a hose down my nose tounblock the twist. Again, HE SAID IT WOULD NOT 
HURT! - He lied. It hurt tlike hell he whole two days it was there ans when thy 
pulled it out.- ugly is not enought to discribe what came out.
   
  I now weigh 156, am feeling better for the first time in a year, and can't 
wait for Openining day. Going to rent a small camper (Retro-style) and me and 
superpup are heading for some river fishin up north. My wife needs a beark from 
me and my constant rouchyness.
   
  I have got to sell some items on ebay, to pay some of the insurance. Books, 
Rocky Jr, Falls Inch Minnows, Japanee Clones of same, Ding Bat, fishing rods 
and reels (Ted Williames/sears) Never used fly rod and sighlty used reel,Two St 
Croix from 1961-62, FlyIkes and so forth.Also Have numerous out of date ( pre 
90) fly tying mags for sale. Will Do Inventory on them and the books.

[VFB] Swap Announcement Update- RDS-2010A & RDS-2010B

ALL Rope-dub swappers and want-to swappers:

Note:  I don't want anyone to think I'm blackmailing anyone to buy my DVD- far 
from it.  This swap was set up a while back and planned for DVD tiers to give 
them something to shoot for.

If you don't have the DVD and want to be in a rope-dub swap, I'll hold a 2nd 
swap-RDS-2010B- open to anyone.  (limit 12 tiers)  

If you are interested, reply and I'll make a new list.  Apply on the 2nd list 
below.

So as not to load me up, these flies will be due one month after I make the 
final call on RDS-2010A

Right now, I have 2010A as limited to around 30 tiers, if all sign up who 
bought DVDs.  If you don't want to tie that many flies, sign up for swap #2.  
We'll see how it goes.



Same rules apply as for any swap- returnable package with return postage and 
address, & toe tags with name, dubbing material, and core material.  For A & B

If you aren't getting messages, you can always check the internet location
to see if new messages are being added.

Check your spam filters, if you labeled one VFB message as spam, likey most
others will get that label as well. I've seen a few messages come through
with a [SPAM] last couple days which may be a problem.

interesting vehicle. Is there a little creek inside, and you can fish
(maybe limited to 6 ft, class 3 rods) without even opening the doors?
Imagine, driving on the Autobahn and playing a nice trout without
leaving the comfort of the air condition! That's a real 'fishing van'.
