Apple Music Search results?

2019-12-09 Thread Malcolm Parfitt
Hello,

Is it just me or does Apple Music return less results than it used to for any
given search?

Either they have removed albums or their search returns less results for some
reason.

I have repeated searches I did some time ago and far fewer results have been
returned.

Can anyone confirm whether their experiences match mine?

Thanks.

Malcolm

You are quite right, but even after choosing this I appear to get less results

hi, everyone, for some reason on my iPhone 7 Plus, the volume is very low now.
Yet, when I play media such as music, it is at its normal volume. When I’m
going into all my apps from the home screen, that’s when it gets quite soft. I
don’t know if anyone else is having problems.

Re: Twitterrific’s go to SideBar gesture?

2019-12-09 Thread Ed Worrell
Hello,

The closest thing to this would be the jump to top of screen gesture for
VouceOver. You can invoke this by doing a four finger single tap near the top
of the screen. This should jump you to the side bar button as it’s the top left
most button on screen.

Reading from Bookshare on IPhone

2019-12-09 Thread 'Yates, Danney' via VIPhone
BookShare's website indicates one needs to download reading apps like
VoiceDream Reader or Dolphin reader. What have others experienced when reading
BookShare books on IPhone? Can it not be done without one of these type apps?

Re: Reading from Bookshare on IPhone

2019-12-09 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
Do yourself a huge favor and purchase voice dream reader. It will be
the best money you've ever spent. After a very little amount of
practice, you'll figure out voice dream reader. It is very easy to
use. I upload bookshare books to dropbox then download them to the
app. You can purchase loads of high quality text to speech voices
that make reading an ebook loads of fun. I just listened to a Harry
Potter Fanfic and it was great. The nice thing about having different
text to speech voices is that when you read a bookshare book and it
comes from a different country you can find the voice with the
appropriate accent. If I read a book that took place in England, I
could use a British accented voice, or maybe Australia, I could find a
voice with that accent. Each voice only costs $5 per voice. Good
luck.

is there a known problem with the Audible player position marker?

2019-12-09 Thread 'Kramlinger, Keith G., M.D.' via VIPhone
hi,
For the past half dozen books or so that I have read within Audible, the
position marker indicating reading progress has been most unhelpful and in
accurate.
Is this a known problem with the Audible app? I am just wondering if there is
anything I can do to try to correct it.
Thanks in advance for any help or insights. Best, Keith

I haven’t noticed this at all. I’m currently listening to an Audible book, and
everything seems to be fine.

Accessibility of Apps for Synology Products

2019-12-09 Thread Ekstrand, Pamela A. -ND
Hi All,

We are considering buying a Synology NAS DiskStation for backing up files and
our music collection. We would also like to play that music from our receiver.

Can anyone comment on the accessibility of the app that would need to be used
for this?

Thanks.
Pam

Re: Reading from Bookshare on IPhone

2019-12-09 Thread Richard Turner

you can download in Word, ePub, DAISY, or BRF.
The problem with word format, is you have no easy way to navigate sections, or
get back to where you stopped reading.
Voice Dream Reader is truly the best app for reading Bookshare books, and for
my money, most other files.

Good
luck.

Hi,
As you indicated in your message, you do need a reading app to read books
on Bookshare. Dolphin will work, voice stream will work and I believe it’s
called read to go which is the Bookshare app but your best bet is either
dolphin or Voice Dream voice stream is very accessible but it is not free
where is dolphin is.
I hope this helps.

RE: Phone Calls From Apple

2019-12-09 Thread Carolyn
Heavens yes, and not on my Apple device, but on Jim's land phone. We just hang
up on them.

Last Thursday, his phone rang, and he asked if I'd answer it, so I did. This
recording sounded like the Gestapo, and this guy's voice said:

"This is a fraud alert. Your Social Security number has been suspended due to
fraud."

To which I replied in a real pip squeak voice: "OK. Keep it!"

On Friday, my letter came in the mail from Social Security telling me how much
I will be getting next year.

Over the past few days, I have gotten phone calls supposedly from Apple care.
The calleer gives her nane and says that she is calling from Apple.

Now, to my knowledge, Apple does not make uninvited calls to their customers. I
just wanted to find out if anyone has gotten these calls.

Putting an iPhone 6 Back to Factory Settings

2019-12-09 Thread Evan Reese
Hi,
I have a friend who’s willing to give us an iPhone 6, but she doesn’t know how
to get it back to its original factory settings.
I don’t have an iPhone myself. I do have an iPad Mini, but I never investigated
how to put it back to its original settings because I have no plans to give it
away or sell it.
Any info on how to put an iPhone 6 back to factory settings would be very
helpful.
Thanks very much in advance.
Evan

No, Apple Books are just for the Apple Books app.
Having said that, if it were not copyrighted, and was in ePub or PDF, yes it
will; but those are far and few between.

Voice Dream Reader is truly the best app for reading Bookshare books,
and for my money, most other files.

Hi,
As you indicated in your message, you do need a reading app to read
books on Bookshare. Dolphin will work, voice stream will work and I
believe it’s called read to go which is the Bookshare app but your
best bet is either dolphin or Voice Dream voice stream is very
accessible but it is not free where is dolphin is.
I hope this helps.

2019-12-09 Thread Feliciano Godoy
Hi,
The first thing you want the friend to do is to go to the iPhone settings the
Apple ID section then go to iCloud followed by find my iPhone and make sure
that is off. Once that has been disabled, go to iPhone settings, general, very
bottom there is reset. What you want to choose is erase all content and
settings. This will wipe the iPhone to factory settings. Once it has been
reset, you can triple click the home button to enable voiceover and set up the
iphone.
